StartNewsWine Group invests R$ 18 million in the launch of its first project

Група Wine інвестує R$ 18 мільйонів у запуск свого першого проекту виноградарства в Бразилії, у партнерстві з Групою Miolo

The richness of Brazilian culture and the possibilities that the soil and climate in Brazil offer for wine production result in a unique essence with the potential for the growth of national wine. It was in this world that theWine Group, the number 1 group of wines from Brazil is the leader in the import ranking, saw the possibility of adding another universe: that of the deep knowledge of the Brazilian consumer.

This is how it is born the"Between Two Worlds", a pfirst winery of wines from the Wine Group, with exclusive distribution byCantu Grupo Wine, the house of big brands, whatarrives at points of sale from July 22. The amount invested in the project was R$18 million, between goods costs, new production technologies, product development and marketing

The production of author wines is the strategy of the Wine Group to expand its growth in 2024. In May of this year, the company launched the Metropolitano line in the market, with wines produced in Chile. For the winery project Between Two Worlds, the company joined forces with Miolo, with all your expertise, sophistication and tradition, and still, high agricultural and productive capacity in Brazilian soil. A heavyweight partnership that unites, once again, two worlds.

The brand Entre Dois Mundos takes on a strategic role in the portfolio of Cantu Grupo Wine, who has more than 20 years of experience in the wine world and exclusively represents in Brazil a select group of 40 brands from various countries, among them, Susana Balbo, Ramón Bilbao,Yellow Tail and Albert Bichot. A Between Two Worlds marks the first Brazilian wine and sparkling wine in the portfolio of Cantu Grupo Wine. There are two lines: Maraví, of sparkling wines, and Kaipú, of wines, that add up to seven labels, two different production locations and a mix of wines that allows the consumer to enjoy different experiences and pairings, from lunch to dinner, from the beach to the pool with friends, from feijoada to barbecue

On one side, the Maraví line features three festive sparkling wines – Brut, Brut Rosé and Muscat – crafted at Terranova Winery, from Miolo, located in the lush São Francisco Valley, in Bahia. The sparkling wines convey the vibrant energy and the unique terroir of this tropical region. Maraví is a sparkling wine born in the hinterland with a festive spirit.

The Kaipú line consists of four wines – white (chardonnay), rosé, cabernet sauvignon and tannat. Produced at Almadén Winery, in Santana do Livramento, in the Campanha Gaúcha region, in Rio Grande do Sul, these wines are the result of a careful selection of grapes, cultivated in soil that is as rich and complex as the history and culture they representEveryone goes through a barrel, a differential in the Brazilian market for cost-effective wines, that adds to the final consumer experience. The Kaipú line represents a journey into the unprecedented.

The labels of Entre Dois Mundos can be found in more than 15.000 points of sale where Cantu Grupo Wine operates, throughout the country, including supermarkets, wineries and restaurants. To complement the capillarity and ensure easy access, the products will also be available on the wine e-commerce.with.and in the 17 physical stores of Wine spread across Brazil

For the first phase of distribution during the launch, the Brazilian will have access to more than 233 thousand bottles of Kaipú that includes the 2023 and 2024 harvests, that is already in production. The Maraví line, promises more than 200 thousand bottles of sparkling wine that will be distributed in the coming months

The launch of Between Two Worlds continues the work of the Wine Group in recent years to democratize the world of wine and make it increasingly hyper available in the lives of Brazilians, offering access to a diverse portfolio in a practical way. In addition to high-quality products, the new winery will also have an affordable cost. The suggested retail price will be R$60,00 for the sparkling wines Maraví and R$45,00 for the Kaipú wines

"With Between Two Worlds, we operate with an international vision in the development of Brazilian products, allowing competition not only with wines from Brazil, but also with products from other countries. The Wine Group has accumulated a deep understanding of the Brazilian consumer, with a catalog of over 1 million customer reviews that allow us to take this step in a well-founded manner. We wanted to add and contribute to the development of national production, "starting from a consumer-centered logic", affirmsGerman Garfinkel, Corporate VP of the Wine Group

In search of the perfect production

The selection of the best production locations involved extensive research and travel, that started in 2021, with an expedition from the Wine Group led by German andAlberto Pedrajo Perez, Winemaker and WineHunter of the Wine Group. The Spanish Alberto Pedrajo has already produced wines in several countries, having deep knowledge of the different specificities according to the climate, the soil and the production culture. Furthermore, collaborated with over 80 wineries in various renowned international wine regions

We visited several cities and vineyards, analyzing the Brazilian wine landscape. Brazil has unique characteristics, with its own challenges, from the climate and type of soil to the production chain of graphic items, metals and glass for labels and packaging. With this launch, The Wine Group and Cantu Wine Group seek to create a bridge between the old and new world of wine, between established wine traditions and innovative approaches that respect and value the Brazilian terroir. This project is a tribute to the diversity and the ability of Brazil to produce wines that are on par with the best in the world, says Pedrajo

The entire area where the production structure of Between Two Worlds is located belongs to Miolo and the collaboration of Alberto Pedrajo Perez ensures that the team from both wineries is constantly guided to ensure the expected quality and wine profile

"With the co-creation of the Kaipú and Maraví lines", together with the Wine Group, we take another step of innovation in our history of passion for the fascinating world of wine. With more than 1.000 hectares planted, Miolo is the largest owner of fine grape vineyards in Brazil and is the largest exporter of wines from Brazil, reinforcesAdriano Miolo, superintendent director of Miolo

Sustainability in vineyards

The winery Between Two Worlds adopts, since its first production, precision viticulture practices to ensure the sustainability and quality of your vineyards. A mapping and stratification of soils are done, aiming for the use of fertilizers and correctives adjusted to the needs of each plot of land. Furthermore, twice a year soil analyses are conducted in the region with the aim of correcting their nutrients

It is worth noting that chemical fertilization is partially replaced by organic fertilization, produced from winemaking waste, natural phosphates are used in the establishment of new vineyards. In this way, grape production reuses materials and implements alternative cultivation, such as legumes in the summer and cover crops in the winter, to restructure the soil and recycle nutrients. The native vegetation between the rows of the vineyard is preserved, helping to contain erosion, recycle nutrients and fix nitrogen naturally

Furthermore, sustainable practices are strictly followed by the vineyard team, that use only registered plant protection products and biological products for pest and disease control, reducing the use of chemical molecules. Continuous monitoring of waste is carried out to control the maximum limits

The winery is also dedicated to the preservation of heritage, like the Paleo Tiger Den, and is building an artesian well to monitor the water quality of the Guarani Aquifer. More than 30% of the vineyard area is maintained as a Permanent Preservation Area (APP), where more than 30 species of native animals from the Pampa biome were cataloged

"Between Two Worlds is not just a name, it is our philosophy. It is our way of producing wine, with a lot of passion, dedication and innovation. We unite Brazilian culture and the global wine culture. We combine market knowledge and top-notch production quality. We combine the market's availability to receive high-quality products with our ability to produce and distribute throughout the country. The interface of some worlds is present in the bottles of Kaipú and Maraví and this is something that buyers and consumers will taste and toast, finalizes German
