Good performance of SMEs with Artificial Intelligence depends on strategy and planning

Research conducted by IntelliGente Consult reveals the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on organizations. Among the data obtained in the survey of the consulting and mentoring company specialized in strategies, business programs and projects, 57% of respondents claim that since the use of AI there have been no changes in their activities, what demonstrates that even in the face of all the technological transformation, human capital stands out in importance for business development. The survey, whose majority profile of participants is made up of professionals with good qualifications, acting in established companies in the market, it also highlights that there is no record of layoffs with the implementation of AI

The IntelliGente Consult survey also shows that 37% of respondents claim that from the use of AI tools, your tasks had "other developments" and 7% began to take on another role

"The majority of survey respondents did not observe a negative impact on their activities from the use of AI", affirms Fernanda Toledo,CEO of IntelliGente Consult. According to the executive, when pointing out the use of artificial intelligence tools, professionals have listed benefits in the execution of work, "that include evolving from operational tasks to more strategic and analytical activities"

Far from being a futuristic concept, artificial intelligence has been reshaping the job market at an accelerated pace. Although the IntelliGente Consult survey does not indicate layoffs resulting from the use of AI tools, some activities and functions undergo major transformations. An example is in the customer service sector, dominated by chatbots and virtual assistants powered by AI, observe Aline Oliveira, partner-director at Intelligente Consult. Retail boxes, basic analytical functions, applied to simple finance and reports, integrate this list

A percepção de que grandes empresas são mais aderentes à IA não se confirma no relatório anual “State of Sales and Marketing Report 2023/2024” realizado pela Pipedrive. According to the survey, 42% of small businesses with fewer than 10 employees use AI compared to 37% of medium-sized businesses (11 to 100 workers) and 23% of large businesses (more than 100 employees)

Another study "AI in micro, small and medium enterprises: Trends, challenges and opportunities, this time released by Microsoft, indicates that at the top of the main motivations of SMEs is the improvement of service and customer satisfaction. Align with competitors, ensure efficiency, productivity and agility, as well as boosting creativity and relevant work also appear as priorities

The survey also indicates that AI positively contributes to the quality of work in the company (91%), customer satisfaction (90%) and employee motivation and engagement (88%)

No intelligent survey Consut, the executives emphasize the importance of human capital. It is a fact that operations in various segments are greatly favored by artificial intelligence. However, the development of organizations and the way they are recognized in the market are even more effective when the work values people in all their potential, affirms Aline Oliveira

Regarding the willingness of small and medium enterprises to use AI, Fernanda Toledo observes it is essential for the manager to "always consider hiring a cheaper tool", considering that artificial intelligence applied to business does not develop on its own and depends on human analysis

The executives also emphasize the role of organizations in training and preparing professionals. Only with knowledge and full technical development will people be able to use AI tools in favor of their skills and, consequently, of business, says the CEO

Even being an increasingly used resource, according to Aline Oliveira the incorporation of artificial intelligence is a challenge faced by SMEs. To better perform the business, without impacting the reduction of jobs, the hiring of a consultancy that makes intelligent planning is strategic for these companies, say

For the executives of IntelliGente Consult,in the same way that artificial intelligence opens opportunities for sectors that require complex decision-making, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs need to consider emotional intelligence and creative skills. "No machine can replicate these attributes", and understanding peculiarities applied in each sector is crucial for the maintenance and future of the business, concluded Fernanda Toledo
