Avaya announces Kamilah Thomas as new senior vice president and chief people officer

As part of the actions to transform its leadership team, aAvaya, global leader in communication and customer experience solutions, announces Kamilah Thomas as the new senior vice president and chief people officer (CPO) of the company. 

With over 20 years of leadership in global human resources and expertise in organizational transformation, Kamilah will oversee Avaya's global human resources and lead its cultural transformation in pursuit of the title of best company to work for, what marks another step in the organization's ongoing mission to promote a high-performance culture. 

Furthermore, the executive will lead the company's efforts in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and the Avaya United employee resource group communities, with the aim of creating a work environment and a culture that are equitable and inclusive, reporting directly to the CEO of Avaya, Alan Masarek, in the city of Morristown, New Jersey

The new senior vice president and CPO of the company is part of the Board of Directors of MasterCraft Boat Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCFT) in the Compensation and Corporate Governance and Nominating committees. Before joining Avaya, Kamilah was senior vice president of people and workplace experience at Roku, where it contributed to organizational growth, increasing the workforce by 56%, and the profitable growth of the organization. Also, served as chief people officer at Dow Jones & Company, where, together with senior management, played an integral role in transforming the company into digital-first, supporting more than 7.000 employees in 50 markets. On A+E Networks, she was co-leader of the people and culture department, where it facilitated a CEO transition and led the HR transformation for more than 2.000 employees
