The Rio Grande do Sul Syndicate of Cargo Transportation and Logistics Companies (SETCERGS) will hold the Rio Grande do Sul Transportation and Logistics Forum on May 12 (Monday), as part of the "Cumpra-se a Lei" (Comply with the Law) movement. The meeting, which will begin at 1:59 PM, will be held at the entity's headquarters, located at Av. São Pedro, 1420 – Porto Alegre/RS, and will bring together authorities, business leaders, and industry leaders to discuss critical challenges that directly impact the operation of road freight transport (TRCL).
Among the names already confirmed for the event are the state's vice-governor, Gabriel Souza; federal deputy Luciano Zucco; and state deputy Gustavo Victorino, who has stood out in the Legislative Assembly for defending the demands of the transport sector.
Also in attendance will be figures with extensive political experience, such as former Governor Germano Rigotto, former federal deputy Jerônimo Goergen, and former vice-mayor of Porto Alegre Ricardo Gomes, all currently working as political advisors for SETCERGS. The business sector will be represented by the president of Federasul, Rodrigo Fernandes, and the event will be moderated by journalist and vice-president of Rede Pampa, Paulo Sérgio Pinto.
"Today we face almost unsustainable difficulties in working. The 11-hour law is a good example of this. We are complying with the legislation, but all actors need to be held accountable, from shippers to consignees, and not just the carrier, who is exposed on the roads," highlighted the president of SETCERGS, Delmar Albarello.
Among the topics to be discussed at the forum are the 11-hour driving day, highway infrastructure to ensure safety during overnight stops, and the responsibilities of shippers and consignees in complying with the law—issues that directly impact the safety and efficiency of the road freight transport sector.
