IBM and Wimbledon launch new AI features for real-time fan engagement

The All England Lawn Tennis Club and IBM (NYSE:IBMThey announced today new and enhanced digital experiences with AI technology for the 2025 Wimbledon Championship. Launching the "Match Chatan interactive AI assistant that can answer fans' questions during live singles matches. The toolLikelihood to WinIt is also being improved, offering fans a projected percentage of wins that can change throughout each game.

The solutions, which combine match data and capabilities ofGenerative AI, with thewatsonx, they are the latest in the All England Club and IBM's mission to provide tennis fans with innovative and exclusive ways to interact during the tournament fortnight.

Match Chat is available on the Wimbledon app and inwimbledon.comFans can interact with the assistant using pre-written prompts or their own questions.for example;Who converted more break points in the match?’,orWho is doing better in the match?’). Immediate responses and match analyses, provided by AI, are generated, offering insights and enriching the fans' experience.

The Match Chat was developed with technologies fromwatsonx Orchestrate, including a set of AI agents and large language models (LLMs), such as IBM Granite, trained in the editorial style of Wimbledon and the language of tennis. It will also be available after the match on IBM Slamtracker for selected high-level games.

The enhanced toolProbability of Winninggenerates projections based on a comprehensive AI-driven analysis of player statistics, expert opinions, and the current state of the match. The tool uses IBM technologies, including Red Hat OpenShift, which allows developers to quickly and efficiently create, deploy, and scale applications across multiple environments.

Together, these resources aim to help Wimbledon create complementary experiences to further engage tennis fans, both new and old, around the world. They also offer fans more ways to interact with all the exciting action of men's and women's singles matches as they happen.

Fans can access these and other resources through IBM Slamtracker, available on the Wimbledon app and atwimbledon.com.
