The Federal Revenue of Brazil has released a new version of the Web Requests system (formerly e-Defesa). The system developed by Serpro promises to facilitate the opening of requests for individual taxpayers who have received a notice of assessment after being caught in the IRPF audit. The update includes services such as "Request Correction of Entry" and "Partially Dispute or Fully Dispute the Notice of Assessment," aiming to simplify the process for citizens and optimize the workflow at the Federal Revenue Service.
With the new version of Web Requests (e-Defesa), it was possible to implement the delivery of these requests completely online and integrated with other systems and services of the Virtual Taxpayer Service Center (e-CAC), such as e-Process, e-Assina, Malha PF and Powers of Attorney.
How will it work?
According to Claudia Maria de Andrade, manager of the RFB’s Web Applications system, “the application has been completely redesigned, seeking to improve the service provided to citizens and providing individual taxpayers with several improvements in terms of usability and navigation. The innovations and integrations with other Federal Revenue systems will simplify the entire procedure for filing an objection to an income tax assessment notification or assessment correction. Now, taxpayers will be able to sign their application digitally and attach supporting documentation without having to log in and out of multiple systems. Furthermore, after submitting the application entirely online, taxpayers will receive the number of the digital process created, which will allow them to track it on the RFB website,” she explains.
“This new version will optimize citizen service, reducing the time spent filling out and submitting forms, with assertive guidance, standardization and mitigation of filling errors. Finally, it will reduce the time for analysis by the RFB, due to the structured entries of the request and supporting documentation”, assess Verônica Maria Perrotta de Seixas and Paulo Mauch Neto, also managers of Requerimentos web.
To use the online application service, taxpayers must access theportal e-CAC, select the “Legislation and Process” option and then click on “Web Requests”.
Technology for citizens and public management
The new version of the application is the latest delivery from Serpro, a public technology company of the federal government, to the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service, its main client.
For Livia Maria Lopes Nunes, the Serpro manager who led the development team responsible for this work, this delivery marks another stage in the evolution of a solution designed and planned to meet the needs of the RFB and society as a whole. "The team worked tirelessly and diligently to deliver a quality solution that added value for the client. Many challenges were overcome and lessons learned that will be used in the next stages of joint work between Serpro and RFB. Our goal is product quality in all its aspects; and the recognition of this effort by the clients reassures us that we are on the right path," he emphasizes.
The focus on public management and the expansion and simplification of services offered to citizens is also highlighted by Solange Maria Pires Sad, an analyst at Serpro responsible for the survey and development of requirements for this new version. "We developed a solution that will offer more convenience to the taxpayer and, at the same time, standardization of the requests received by the Revenue Service, making the work of the agency's employees easier," analyzes Solange.
Along the same lines, there is the perception of Diego Matos from São Joaquim, Development Manager for Federal Revenue at Serpro. "In this new completed stage, RFB servers will find it easier to analyze the received requests, thanks to the standardization of information and clear guidelines for submitting supporting documents," he concludes.
