A study maps some of the trends involving generative AI and the future of business.

The generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) market is here to stay — from the early research in the 1950s to the boom starting in 2023 with the expansion of tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. Technology has surpassed the big tech bubble and invaded the daily lives of companies, which have started to automate processes and seek to understand all ways to employ AI to boost their businesses, saving resources, professionalizing and standardizing tasks, and managing processes based on data.

To better understand where the world of business is heading with AI, Blip, a pioneering company in conversational AI in Brazil and worldwide, conducted a market analysis called "Generative AI and the Future of Business: Trends for 2025.""Knowing which technologies are on the rise allows innovation leaders to prioritize them in investments. Understanding, for example, the power that WhatsApp has in communication between companies and their customers, as well as trying to anticipate which tools and technologies will be the most strategic in certain segments, signals the need to allocate budget to research and development before competitors mobilize," says William Colen, AI Director at Blip.

Below are four emerging trends that the study points out:

  1. AI Agents and Copilots

The wave of chatbots is transforming into the wave of generative AI agents and Copilots. AI is no longer just reproducing information but is becoming a producer, a creator of intelligent information, especially in the form of conversations. Generating conversations is a strong trend in the use of Generative AI.

And it is these models of intelligent virtual assistants, based on everything known about the consumer, that are capable of deeply understanding the context of each interaction and acting as true copilots for customer service and sales teams. These solutions, trained with each company's proprietary databases, offer highly personalized responses and enhance operational efficiency, transforming customer service into a truly intelligent experience.

  1. Mass customization

Two terms that always seemed opposite—"personalization" and "large scale"—are increasingly converging with generative AI.

Today, an e-commerce can recommend products based on each customer's history, creating engagement and strengthening brand communities like never before, increasing loyalty and the perceived value by the audience.

  1. Data reading and insight creation

Generative AI processes enormous volumes of information to support business teams in transforming data into strategic decisions. By automating complex analyses, companies gain agility and accuracy, avoiding missed opportunities due to a lack of clear insight into their own data.

  1. Generative AI that processes audio
  • Voice assistants built with multimodal LLM technology, although similar to Siri and Alexa in terms of use cases, can now operate with a high degree of naturalness. We should expect, including, evolutions of these two assistants in the short term.

Along with the boom of generative AI, debates about ethics in its use arise. The goal is to protect users' rights and data and to mitigate risks associated with AI use, such as discrimination, manipulation, inaccurate information, and invasion of privacy, concludes Colen.
