The ease of receiving purchases without leaving home has officially become a trend in the education sector. These are the data from EdTech Layers that prove this: in the last school supplies sales cycle, which took place between September 2023 and May 2024, R$ 453 million were transacted through the sale of books, workbooks, enrollments, among others, reaching more than 338,900 users served on the platform.
A Layers is the startup behind the Education SuperApp, an ecosystem of customizable solutions for educational institutions. Sales are conducted through the platform, with each educational institution creating its own store and handling the end-to-end sales. A startup acts as an intermediary between students, guardians, and suppliers, who can be of books, study guides, uniforms, free courses, etc.
The marketplace created by the educational institution was designed and dedicated to serve the segment. For the CEO of Layers, Danilo Yoneshige, this is another move by EdTech to offer freedom to schools and families. Having an online platform to make school purchases offers convenience and ease for the school community. Additionally, for those who need a partner to sell trips and free courses, there is no need to rely on card machines or in-person service.
The goal of Layers is to provide a single platform for all the school's tools, including communication and scheduling apps, as well as deep integration with management systems that process external data in real time. There are already more than 1,600 schools and universities, with 850,000 registered students and over half a billion reais transacted.
