IAB Brasil, the country's leading digital advertising association, announced today the appointment of Denise Porto Hruby as its new CEO. Hruby takes over the role previously held by Cris Camargo, who led the organization for 11 years. The transition has been carefully planned over the past few months to ensure the continuity and integrity of the association.
Denise Porto Hruby brings extensive experience in business management and leadership. With a degree in business administration from PUC-Rio, Hruby also holds specializations in corporate boardroom management from Saint Paul Business School and the University of Cape Town. Before joining IAB Brasil, she was a partner at Blinks and, after leading the merger with Essence, became CEO of Blinks Essence. During her nine-year tenure, the agency grew from 20 to over 250 employees and was eventually sold to the holding company WPP.
Hruby also gained significant experience at Google, both in Brazil and at the company's headquarters in California, where he lived for seven years. For the last four years, he served on the board of PUC-Rio and, for the last two years, he was on sabbatical, during which he dedicated himself to studying topics such as corporate governance, risk management, and mediation.
"My experience at several companies has allowed me to develop a holistic view of the ecosystem, encompassing all the nuances that the digital advertising sector demands. Therefore, I bring an analytical and unbiased perspective to foster best practices for and with associates," said Denise Porto Hruby.
Ana Moises, president of IAB Brazil, highlighted Hruby's qualities: "Leading an industry organization like the IAB requires a professional capable of self-management, resilience, and entrepreneurship. These are highly recognized characteristics of Denise. Her professional experience, which includes platforms, clients, and agencies, only adds value to this sophisticated advertising ecosystem within our association. I am certain that I, along with the entire board, council, and team, are united in ensuring a smooth transition."
Cris Camargo, the outgoing CEO, also commented on the transition: "We have worked hard over the past few months to ensure the transition takes place, ensuring the continuity of the actions taken so far, with leadership that shares the values we have developed and the same focus."
With the arrival of Denise Porto Hruby, IAB Brazil is preparing for a new phase, maintaining its commitment to innovation and best practices in the digital advertising sector.
