Bistek Supermarkets, one of the main retail chains in southern Brazil, announced the launch of its new e-commerce platform, with an investment of R$ 500,000. The new website, which went live at the end of May, is already showing significant results, with a 17% increase in both the average ticket value and the number of purchases.
An important milestone was reached on June 3rd, when the platform recorded the highest volume of completed sales in a single day, representing a 56% increase compared to the best performance of the previous platform. Additionally, there was an increase of approximately 20% in the number of items per order.
A new platform, developed in partnership with VTEX, specialized in digital commerce solutions, brings a series of innovations focused on improving the user experience. Among the main new features is Smart Checkout, which allows customers to complete their purchases without the need for login or lengthy registration steps.
Another highlighted feature is the creation of customized lists according to the occasion of consumption. Customers can now start their shopping by replicating previous orders or reviewing and modifying specific items from past purchases, making the process faster and more convenient.
Wagner Ghislandi, the chain’s marketing director, emphasizes the importance of these improvements: “It is essential to understand that food retail e-commerce has its own characteristics, very different from other segments. Our customers deal with a large number of items per purchase, each representing an individual decision. Therefore, our priority is to simplify and improve the customer experience at each stage.”
Bistek Supermercados' investment in its digital platform reflects the growing trend of digitization in the retail sector, especially in the food segment. With these improvements, the company aims not only to increase its online sales but also to strengthen its relationship with customers by offering a more personalized and efficient shopping experience. The positive response from consumers, evidenced by the initial numbers, suggests that Bistek is on the right track to establish itself as an important player in the supermarket e-commerce sector, an industry that has been gaining increasing relevance in the Brazilian retail landscape.
