Threat of DDoS attacks drives NSFOCUS to record 54% growth in Latin America

THE NSFOCUS, a global reference in cybersecurity, announced a historic performance in its 2025 balance sheet for Latin America. For the second consecutive year, the company exceeded its financial targets, recording a 54% above stipulated. Growth was mainly driven by high demand for protection solutions against Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and the consolidation of web application security tools (WAF).

The advance is not restricted to Brazil. Neighboring countries such as Chile, Colombia and Peru emerge as protagonists in the positive results, showing an increase in the region's cyber maturity.

“The cybersecurity sector has increasingly gained prominence in C-Level [senior management] discussions, which also favors investments in the area, as digitalization has made attack surfaces increasingly larger”, assesses Raphael Tedesco, director of new business at NSFOCUS for Latin America.

The new profile of attacks: Tbps scale and AI

The market heating is a direct response to the evolution of criminal tactics. According to the report, volumetric attacks in the Terabits per second (Tbps) range are no longer a technical rarity. Currently, internet providers, critical infrastructures and cloud services face frequent attacks with peaks between 5 and 7 Tbps.

In addition to volume, complexity has increased. The illegal market for DDoS-THE s-THE -Service (DDoS as a Service), driven by Artificial Intelligence, has made attacks cheap and accessible. Criminals now use “multi-vector” tactics, aiming to saturate multiple points of defense simultaneously, orchestrated by global botnets.

Smart Defense and the Future with NSFGPT

To combat the use of AI in cybercrime, NSFOCUS is betting on the technology itself. The company, which has been developing AI solutions for more than five years to reduce false positives, projects growth in 60% on sales of your threat intelligence (NTI) platform this year.

The company's strategic advantage lies in its database: NSFOCUS technology monitors approximately 40% of global internet traffic before other vendors, which enriches detection capabilities.

"We will integrate NSFGPT — our security AI designed for operational efficiency — into our solutions. The goal is to create a new source of libraries that optimize the process of identifying and responding to new incidents", concludes Tedesco.

The company's plan is to use AI massively to automate flows and target machine learning specifically for its customers' critical infrastructures, ensuring resilience in an increasingly hostile digital landscape.
