BS2 , a financial ecosystem focused on the corporate market, announces the acquisition of Voucherpay , a platform that allows Brazilians to make purchases abroad using Pix or credit cards with installment payments in reais. The expectation is that the solution will handle approximately R$ 100 million in transactions per year.
Created in 2019 by Brapago, a fintech company in the payments sector, in partnership with BS2, Voucherpay caters to a growing demand from Brazilian consumers who travel abroad or live near international borders, especially in the Ciudad del Este region of Paraguay. With the acquisition, BS2 now owns the technology, the operation, and the brand—the latter already registered by the bank itself.
The platform features a system integrated with BS2's Pix APIs and acquiring systems, allowing Brazilian consumers to make payments as if they were in Brazil, even when receiving the product abroad. "We are enabling a fluid and nationalized shopping experience, even at foreign points of sale," says Carlos Eduardo de Andrade, Executive Director of Foreign Exchange at BS2.
This is not the first time BS2 has innovated in cross-border operations. In 2023, the bank pioneered the launch of the Easy Pay a cross-selling foreign exchange and cash management offering that enables international transactions 24/7. "Today, we dominate this journey from end to end, and having Voucherpay in-house gives even more robustness to our operation," says the executive.
Voucherpay's management will be handled by a multidisciplinary unit within the bank, involving areas such as foreign exchange, merchant acquiring, and technology. According to Andrade, the acquisition represents a strategic bet on the advancement of international Pix and the expansion of financial products linked to foreign exchange, merchant acquiring, and receivables anticipation. Furthermore, the incorporation of the group's merchant acquiring company into BS2's operations facilitated the consolidation of the operation.
Currently operating in Paraguay and Europe, BS2 aims to expand the geographic reach of Voucherpay. The goal is to reach a monthly transaction volume of R$ 20 million by 2026. To achieve this, the bank plans to intensify the registration of international merchants and strengthen the product's distribution in the market.
