Simple Account генерує 370 тисяч годин і заощаджує $38 мільйонів R1TP для МСП у 2024 році

THE Простий рахунокBrazil's leading corporate expense management platform, Conta Simples, ends the year with plenty to celebrate. Throughout 2024, SMEs connected to the fintech experienced significant efficiency improvements in their daily operations. The time saved by finance teams using the platform to manage expenses was estimated at over 369,000 annual hours, equivalent to roughly 180 working days, and impacting annual savings of R$1,794,000,000. “These tangible gains reflect our objective of simplifying financial processes, generating greater efficiency, and enabling company employees to focus on more strategic and less operational activities,” emphasizes Rodrigo Tognini, CEO of Conta Simples.

To generate significant impact throughout 2024, the fintech scaled its product, evolving from a core banking platform focused on corporate cards to a comprehensive expense management solution. Today, 95% of its more than 38,000 clients are already engaged with at least one offered functionality, and 70% utilise two or more features each month, aimed at organising, controlling, or tracking their expenses.

Among the main uses of these cards by SMEs, expenses on advertising, software, and corporate travel stand out, demonstrating the diversification of needs among the businesses served. Control of these expenses was also better structured, with expense type (MCC or Merchant Category Code) and the spending limit (budget) as the most used functions by companies.

Furthermore, the tracking of this expense journey has also evolved, with over 100,000 receipts attached by over 700 businesses. Just one fintech client attached over 18,000 invoices during the year. This trust from SMEs in the platform resulted in a historical milestone of R$ 50 billion transacted via cards, PIX, TEDs, bank drafts, or credit over its five years of existence. **Explanation of potential issues and alternatives:** The original Portuguese text contains an unusual abbreviation/placeholder "R$". This is likely a company abbreviation or a formatting error. I've left it as it is, assuming it's intended to be left untranslated. If you have the full context, I can offer a more precise translation for this element. I've avoided literal translations of "notas fiscais" (invoices) which might be less natural in UK English than "receipts" or "invoices". The chosen translation aims for clarity and fluency in UK English.

"The figures show how the Simple Account has been successful in simplifying the routines of SMEs in Brazil, helping to transform management, control, and visibility challenges into opportunities for financial efficiency, and also bringing more financial autonomy to teams," comments Tognini.

Focus on innovation, new products, and people.

2024 also saw developments that reaffirmed the Simple Account's purpose of assisting Brazilian businesses, bringing greater simplicity, less bureaucracy, and transforming the relationship between SMEs and startups with financial institutions.

An example is the announcement of the expansion of the B2B credit offering, driven by the Direct Credit Company (DCC) licence granted by the Central Bank at the end of 2023. The initiative was designed to support startups and SMEs in managing cash flow, working capital, and growth plans. In the same month, Simples Account launched new flexible credit card models tailored to the specific needs of each business. "In 2024, we saw our credit card portfolio grow 6 times more compared to 2023," comments Tognini.

One of the recent launches that helped reshape the business was "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL), a solution that helped the fintech offer more advantageous payment terms, creating a similar experience to a credit card but with the option for businesses to use the received limit in transactions via PIX, TED, and bank drafts.

Behind these innovations is an expanding team, which added 112 new colleagues in 2024 and ended the year with 261 people. To reinforce this entire structure, sustain the expansion, and enhance its market presence, Conta Simples has brought on board Daniel Moreira (former Itaú Unibanco and Arco Educação), who has taken on the role of Director of New Businesses, and Conrado Tourinho as its new CMO (formerly of Gympass, Coca-Cola, and Netflix).

"Our success was only possible thanks to the strength of our team. The arrival of talent provided us not only with the expertise of leaders with years of experience in the market, but also a renewed vigour for our challenges, along with those who are still starting out in the workforce," reveals Tognini.

International recognition

Simple Account was also recognised as one of the world's top 100 most promising fintechs by CB Insights, in the "Expense Management" category, being one of only two Brazilian companies on the list.

Furthermore, the investment of more than R$$ 200 million received in January placed the company among the top five fintech investments of the year, according to Investment & M&A Report: Fintechs 2024And it was just the beginning of a year filled with achievements and progress that solidified its position as a benchmark in the corporate expense management market.

For Tognini, the 2024 results reaffirm that the Simple Account is on the right track: growing sustainably, generating value for its clients and collaborators, and solidifying its position as a benchmark in expense management. "The 2025 targets are ambitious, but the learning and achievements of 2024 make it clear that we are prepared to continue transforming and simplifying how companies manage their finances," he concludes.
