Білінг МСП прискорюється і піднімається до 11.9% у вересні

The Omie SME Economic Performance Index (IODE-PMEs) shows an 11.91% increase in the financial turnover of Brazilian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in September 2024, compared to the same period last year. Year-to-date, the index shows a 5.81% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

The IODE-PMEs acts as an economic thermometer for businesses with annual turnover of up to R$1.745 billion, divided into 701 economic activities comprising four major sectors: Commerce, Industry, Infrastructure, and Services.

Felipe Beraldi, an economist and Manager of Economic Indicators and Studies at Omie, a cloud-based ERP platform, indicates that the growth of SMEs in September was widespread across sectors. "The maintenance of positive signals in the Brazilian macroeconomic environment, from the perspective of the labour market and household income, continues to drive SME performance, while consumer confidence, as measured by the FGV indicator (ICC-FGV), has been rising recently, bolstering the positive outlook for consumption," he contextualises.

The highlight was Trade, which saw growth of 19.2% in September year-on-year – so far one of the best results for the segment in 2024. "The consistent recovery in recent months, both in wholesale and retail, suggests a promising end to the year for SMEs in the sector. This context raises expectations for the impact of seasonal dates, such as Чорна п'ятниця"in the companies' revenue in the coming months," explains the economist.

As industrial SMEs returned to positive territory in September, after a brief downturn the previous month, recording an 11.81% year-on-year increase. Of the 22 sub-segments of the manufacturing industry monitored, 18 showed increased revenue, with particularly strong growth in 'Furniture Manufacturing', 'Metal Products Manufacturing', and 'Pulp and Paper Products Manufacturing'.

In the Services sector, SMEs saw a 7.31% increase in September. It's important to note the high 2023 comparative base, given the sector's recovery already underway at that point. That month's performance was driven by improvements in 'Administrative activities' and 'Delivery activities'.

Finally, SMEs in the Infrastructure sector recorded a 11.3% increase in real financial movement in September. The 'Electricity' and 'Specialized construction services' segments were dominant drivers of sector growth throughout the third quarter.

Positive results in the past month are helping to maintain the positive turnover of Brazilian SMEs in the short term. "Even with the expected rise in inflationary pressures and interest rates, factors like increased consumer confidence and the historically low unemployment rate are likely to sustain SME growth in the coming months," predicts Beraldi.
