A data revealed by the research concerns the days of the week with the highest incidence of fraud attempts15,1% occurred on Fridays, what is the day with the highest number of sales, when they occur15,9% of the 35 million online transactions. The peak time for scams wasat 2pm, while the lowest record was observed at4hin the early morning. During the weekend, especially on Sundays, the numbers of sales and fraud attempts are smaller, corresponding to11,3%.
Despite that, the data shows us the most common behavior patterns of fraudsters, that usually act during peak hours in e-commerce to blend in with legitimate transactions, making detection difficult.
