Payface launches facial recognition payments for Private Labels with FestCard and Grupo Oscar

A Payface, pioneering company in facial recognition payment solutions, takes a significant step by expanding its services with a solution that integrates biometrics into Private Label card systems. This innovation allows consumers from various segments to carry out, in an unprecedented way, payments using only the face, without the need for passwords or physical cards

The Oscar network is the first to adopt this technology, implementing it in 10 stores in the city of São José dos Campos (SP), where customers already enjoy the convenience of paying with the FestCard, the network's own card, through facial recognition, desde o dia 12/07. The partnership aims to expand the solution to around 100 stores of the group by October 2024, with the expectation of reaching tens of thousands of consumers who pay with the store card every month

For Eládio Isoppo, CEO of Payface, this launch represents two important milestones in Payface's strategy. First, the entry of Payface into the private label card issuers ecosystem – a strategy designed still at the end of 2023, from the acquisition of Smile&Go – with a product built specifically to connect the base of faces captured by the emitters at the time of credit approval of their clients with the respective payment methods.Second, the expansion of the company's solutions to new segments, with enormous acceptance.

"We successfully launched facial biometrics payment in a closed arrangement", marking our strategic entry into the promising footwear and fashion segment. This innovation has already resulted in the addition of thousands of new users to our base, exponentially driving the adoption of Payface. This significant advance was catalyzed by the acquisition of Smile&Go, consolidating our position as a leader in facial recognition solutions. We are excited about the potential for continued growth of our technology, that extends from physical checkouts to online authentications.”, affirms Eládio Isoppo

All Festcard customers are already pre-enabled to pay with their face in stores with the technology and new card customers, for example, they will be able to use it immediately after approval, without expecting plastic customization, definition of password or installation of applications. The capture of the face replaces all of this at once, ensuring accuracy and safety, in addition to reducing disputes and fraud

According to Nelson Cazarine, Director of the Oscar Group, the partnership with Payface makes "even easier the lives of the network's customers, reaffirming the commitment of the Oscar Group to innovation and excellence in service.”

The Payface solution fully integrated into the ecosystem of issuing and processing private label cards makes the shopping experience simple, agile and secure. As Carlos Carvalho highlights, Head of Credit Operations at Grupo Oscar

Facial biometrics has arrived at the FestCard to revolutionize the sales process. With a simple photograph, our clients make their purchases more quickly, security and practicality. An innovation that transforms the shopping experience.”

Even with the recent release, other networks have also adopted facial recognition to address common pain points in the Private Label world, such as card sharing and high operational costs. The Fort Atacadista, that operates the Vuon Card in its stores, and Nalin, card of the same name, they are already in the implementation phase to bring the Payface solution to their operations in the food wholesale and fashion segments, respectively
