Magalu grows in double digits and has the best Black Friday in its history

Magalu grew double digits during Black Friday 2024. The company sold more than 1,2 billion reais in products just on Friday, registering growth in all its sales channels (e-commerce, marketplace and physical stores) and marking the best Black Friday in its history. The number of customers who purchased during Magalu's Black Friday increased by 16%, in comparison with last year

On the date, the Magalu app was the most downloaded in Brazil, all your brands (Magalu, Kabum, Época Cosméticos and Netshoes were among the most talked about on Twitter and the company was a success in engagement with its promotional action Black Push. "This was, дійсно, a historic Black Friday for Magalu. In a year that the company is in a recovery pace, reporting profit in all quarters, having a hot sales date like this makes anyone in retail happy, affirms Fabricio Garcia, vice president of operations at Magalu. We managed to have a great Black Friday, with balanced margins and market share gain.”

TVs, smartphones, refrigerators and washing machines were the standout categories on Black Friday, products that are "wish list" items and that customers traditionally wait for Black Friday to take advantage of discounts. But, among the largest growths, there were lines like supplements, musical instruments, babies,beauty, games, cleaning and wearables and toys – with a focus on marketplace products that were already in stock at Magalu's distribution centers, no fulfillment. 

The company also leveraged the date to implement its credit strategy. The Luiza Card stood out in installments and Digital CDC, and the possibility of payment with two cards made its debut on Black Friday with impressive numbers. And the increase in sales did not reflect an increase in complaints, with the NPS (Net Promoter Score) increasing by 9 points and a 26% reduction in the total number of complaints, no Reclame Aqui, in comparison with last year. For that, the technology was very important: the number of customers who solved their problems with self-service increased by 64% this year

Among the standout products is the PlayStation 5, whose sales increased tenfold during Friday, 29. The number of video games sold – with a discount of almost 1,000 reais – in a single day surpassed the amount sold during the entire month of October

During the pre-Black Friday week, between November 25 and 27, Magalu bet on the Black Push campaign, exclusive to users of the company's app, with offers between 50% and 80%, sent only by means of notification. On the first day, the success was with the sale of 4,000 bottles of Gallo olive oil 500ml in just 15 minutes. The value was only 9 reais. The next day, customers exhausted in 4 minutes the stock of 4,000 gallons of OMO liquid soap 4,2L on sale for only 10,90 reais.Other surprise discounts included the 32-inch Vizzion Smart TV for just 550 reais, the pack of Corona beer for 15 reais, among others. 

The company has brought discounts since the beginning of the month, with "now or never" offers –promotions that last only 24 hours and do not return cheaper, payment options in up to 24 installments, exclusive discounts on the app with the "Black Push" campaign and marketing strategy featuring names like influencer and presenter Diogo Defante, CazéTv, the socialite and digital influencer Narcisa Tamborindeguy and trending names on social media like Láctea, Priscila Evellyn, This is Patrícia Ramos
