Magalu announces today the raising of 130 million dollars (approximately 765 million reais) from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), largest global development institution focused on the private sector and emerging markets and a member of the World Bank Group. The funds raised will be used for advancements in the technology sector, one of the key areas for implementing the company's long-term strategies. The contract with the IFC has a term of five years and includes incentives linked to the improvement of social and environmental management across the company's entire ecosystem, with emphasis on reverse logistics indicators and the disposal of electronic products for recycling. The celebration of the fundraising operation strengthens our capital structure and represents an important endorsement from IFC for our social and environmental policies, says Frederico Trajano, CEO of Magalu. The operation with the IFC also results in an extension of the company's average debt maturity, restructuring the capital structure

Throughout 2024, Magalu maintained its commitment to the sustainability agenda and expanded strategic fronts of socio-environmental impact, como diversidade e inclusão, entrepreneurship, improvements in packaging composition, energy consumption and reverse logistics of electronic appliances.
The reverse logistics program for electronics counts, currently, with 525 physical stores in the country authorized to receive this type of waste and that collected 31 tons of products last year. Magalu expanded the distributed energy generation network that supplies its operations in five states Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Sul. In career development, Magalu launched the Move + Program, dedicated to developing women and black people to occupy future leadership positions. In line with the proposed goals, the company closed the year with about 42% women and 41% black people in leadership positions
Since 2019, the company maintains the Social World, a section dedicated to the sale of products with a positive socio-environmental impact on your marketplace. In 2024, the platform gathered 86 sellers and nearly 5 000 products.
