Brazil gained a new company every 5 seconds in October, reveals Serasa Experian

In October 2024, 394 were registered in the country.710 new CNPJs, what is equivalent, on average, to a new company every 5 seconds, as pointed out by theBusiness Birth Indicator from Serasa Experian, first and largest datatech in Brazil. This number represents an increase of 16,5% compared to the same period in 2023. Check, next, the data from the last 12 months in the graph below

The dynamic business environment and policies supporting entrepreneurship have encouraged the opening of new companies. The acceleration of digital transformation also allows many entrepreneurs to start their activities with less need for initial capital and face reduced entry barriers. However, to maintain the financial health of the business, it is essential to have access to adequate resources, assertive guidance and solid infrastructure to support long-term growth and avoid insolvency risks, analysis by the economist from Serasa Experian, Camila Abdelmalack. 

Of the total number of companies opened in October, 290 thousand were in the "Services" sector.In sequence, 75.737 of "Commerce", 23.929 in "Industry" and 4.963 in the "Others" category. See the comparison in the table below

Regarding the legal nature, the "Individual Microentrepreneurs" (MEIs) represented the largest share of companies created, totaling 282.204. "Limited Companies" opened 89.158 units, in second place. In the sequence, 13 were opened.257 "Sole Proprietorships" and 10.091 new ventures classified as "Others". 

Southeast region opened more than 200 thousand companies

According to the survey, in October, the Southeast created 204.791 ventures, followed by the South (76.991). The Northeast recorded 59.905 new companies, while the Midwest and North had 34.835 and 18.188, respectively. No state cut, São Paulo stood out among the Federal Units (UFs), with the creation of 123.782 CNPJs, leading the list. Check the complete survey by Federal Units (UFs) below

For the survey of Business Births, the monthly number of new companies registered with the commercial boards of all the Federal Units of Brazil was considered, as well as the monthly verification of the CNPJs consulted for the first time in the Serasa Experian database
