Luft Logistics debates climate change and decarbonization

Continuously investing in initiatives that minimize environmental impacts, promote social development and strengthen governance, Luft Logistics promoted, em 20/02, from 8:30 am to 12 pm, inLuft Healthcarein Itapevi (SP), the panelGreen Logistics: Innovation and SustainabilityThe event, that discussed practical decarbonization strategies, with an emphasis on the purchase of carbon credits and the integration of green technologies in the logistics chain, gathered an audience of 120 people – among them, representatives of the public authority, executivesC-Level andmanagers ofSupply Chain, Commercial, ESG and Quality of different companies. 

Incentivizing solutions and including all customers in your sustainable logistics agenda, Luft Healthcare has highlighted the relevance of carbon credits as a mechanism for offsetting greenhouse gas emissions. The opening was made by the company's CEO, Felipe Selistre, after the welcome from the mediating journalist Gloria Vanique. "The purchase of credits is not just a corporate strategy", but an ethical commitment to future generations, declared the CEO.In sequence, Conrado Bertoluzzi, of the Via Green Institute, dividedinsightsabout the urgency of addressing climate change, the importance of developing sustainable projects and the need to mitigate the impacts of human activities on the environment.  

Climate Change 

After the presentation of L'Oréal's decarbonization project, by the National Transport Manager of the company, Vitor Pinheiro,the following multisectoral leaders discussed climate change and decarbonization: Carlos Eduardo Gouvêa, Executive President of CBDL (Brazilian Chamber of Laboratory Diagnosis); Marcella Cunha, President-Director of ABOL (Brazilian Association of Logistics Operators) and Nelson Mussolini, Executive President of Sindusfarma (Union of the Pharmaceutical Industry).After the debate, Roberto Ferreira lectured, Undergraduate Professor at Mackenzie Presbyterian University – Administration, Law and Medicine

Innovation and Practical Actions 

Among the sustainability initiatives of Luft Healthcare, those related to the fleet stand out, como a modernização com veículos Euro 6/Proconve P8; testes com caminhões elétricos e movidos a GNV/biometano; and to thegreen buildingin Itapevi (SP), in a model with an artesian well, wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and traceable renewable energy use.  

Already on the technology platform Luft Digital, the "Carbon Footprint" module monitors and reduces emissions. With the use of integrated technology, route optimization and preventive maintenance help reduce fuel consumption and the generation of atmospheric emissions. Furthermore, the company remains engaged in selective collection programs and environmental education, involving employees and partners in the responsible management of waste. 

With the panelGreen Logistics: Innovation and Sustainability, the company achieved its goals: to bring customers closer, enable the exchange of experiences and facilitate pathways for cooperation among the various institutions related to the supply chain and distribution of the pharmaceutical industry, towards integrated practices and multistakeholder cooperation, for effective decarbonization actions.The event was supported by ABOL, Bioconverter, CBDL, HSPWLEAF, Sindusfarma and Stable Tech
