The number of women entrepreneurs in Brazil has been growing. Segundo pesquisa do Sebrae/IBGE, there were 10,3 million women business owners in the third quarter of 2023, corresponding to 34% of the total entrepreneurs in the country
To better detail this reality, the Project Develops Entrepreneurial Woman, result of a partnership between the Confederation of Commercial and Business Associations of Brazil (CACB) and the National Council of Women Entrepreneurs and Culture (CMEC) and Sebrae National, conducted the researchNational Profile of Women Entrepreneursthat outlines the profile of women-led companies and Brazilian women entrepreneurs, based on the identification of the characteristics and challenges of small business owners
The research, that gathered 6445 interviews distributed across 901 municipalities in 27 states conducted between August and October 2023, pointed out that 54,2% of the interviewed women are between 40 and 59 years old and 38,3% between 20 and 39 years old; 59,8% are white and 32% are black and brown, 78% have children; 69,4% are married or in a stable union, 39,5% have a postgraduate degree and 29,4% have completed higher education
Do total, 34,7% of businesses are MEI and 23,9% microenterprises; 93% have up to 19 employees and the main sectors of activity are beauty (16,7%), nutrition 16,3%), clothing 15,2%) and health (14,4%), being that 18,9% work in more than one sector
To speak with a large number of these businesswomen, the CMEC – Council of Women Entrepreneurs and Culture, body of the CACB – Confederation of Commercial and Business Associations of Brazil and FACESP – The Federation of Commercial Associations of the State of São Paulo will promote the 5th edition of Freedom to Undertake on December 2, at the Monte Líbano Club, in São Paulo
Focused on entrepreneurs from all over the country, the event will have a schedule of lectures, offices, panels and various actions to promote networking and connect participants with several brands
Commanded by Ana Claudia Badra Cotait, president of CMEC, the 5th Freedom to Entrepreneur will have the Panels Inspiring Women and Black Powers with entrepreneurs and executives from various companies who will address the main challenges and advantages of entrepreneurship
Another highlight will be the lecture The Obvious Speech, where actress and entrepreneur Giovanna Antonelli will teach and put into practice 6 topics to boost personal and professional success. Already, Felipe Theodoro, advertiser and influencer, will talk about the theme Client and Retail
There will also be the HOTSEAT led by entrepreneur Cris Arcangeli, who will conduct a strategic express mentoring session for three participants after they pitch to describe their businesses
Already, the retail specialist Janaina Ortiga Abi-Ackel will present the panel Lessons from Retail, the mentor Aline Salvi will address the topic Personal Branding: You are your Brand! and Alessandra Andrade, Director of Pateo 76, and Caetano Maffra, CEO of Cuia Tech, they will talk about Artificial Intelligence
In addition to the lectures, entrepreneurs will be able to participate in complementary workshops aimed at training conducted by professionals and representatives from SEBRAE and ABF that will cover topics such as digital visibility, franchising, export, mental health, self-esteem and communication, among other topics
At the end of the event, the CMEC Award will be presented to outstanding female entrepreneurs, happy hour and activations from various brands to interact with the participants
