FedEx adiciona novos veículos elétricos de coleta e entrega à operação brasileira FedEx adds new electric collection and delivery vehicles to its Brazilian operation

Federal Express Corporation, la più grande azienda di trasporto espresso al mondo, sta integrando 27 veicoli elettrici nella sua flotta brasiliana, portando a 52 il numero di unità a emissioni zero. I nuovi furgoni, modello Mercedes Benz eSprinter Furgão Street 320, saranno destinati alle stazioni FedEx nelle città di Sumaré (SP), Curitiba (PR), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Betim (MG) e San Paolo (SP).  

Elektrifisering av hele transportflåten for innsamling og levering er et av grunnpilarene som styrer selskapets globale mål om å nøytralisere karbonutslipp fra operasjoner innen 2040. FedEx er det ledende logistikkselskapet i kjøp av elektriske kjøretøy i Brasil, med de første enhetene som ankom landet i 2013. Selskapets lokale elektriske flåte består i dag av varebiler og motorsykler, som primært brukes til leveranser i siste mil og i områder med tett trafikk.

To help power its growing electric vehicle fleet, FedEx is working to expand the use of renewable energy sources worldwide. In Brazil, the company is installing solar panels and expanding its participation in the free energy market. In the fiscal year 2025 (FY25), ending May 2025, the FedEx facility in Serra (ES) began operating with solar panel technology, while the facilities in Cajamar (SP) and São Paulo (SP) transitioned to the free energy market. 

Attualmente, l'operazione brasiliana di FedEx conta con 12 unità che utilizzano energia rinnovabile: Belo Horizonte, Campo Grande, Joinville, Petrolina, Simões Filho e Vitória utilizzano pannelli solari; Belo Horizonte, Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Fortaleza, Recife, São Paulo e Cajamar sono nel Mercato Libero dell'Energia. 

Mentre lavora per ampliare l'utilizzo dei veicoli elettrici, l'azienda si concentra anche sull'aumento dell'efficienza della sua flotta a combustione durante questo periodo di transizione, sostituendo i veicoli più vecchi e meno efficienti con modelli più nuovi, compresi quelli con motori Euro 6, che emettono meno inquinanti. Grazie a questi sforzi, i veicoli della flotta terrestre di FedEx in Brasile hanno un'età media di sette anni, il che la rende una delle flotte più giovani del mercato.
