ifood opens registration to invest R$10 million in improvements for deliverymen

Applications are open for the second edition of iFood Chega Junto, a program that encourages initiatives aimed at improving the living and working conditions of delivery people and their communities. With a R$10 million investment – ten times higher than the previous edition – the initiative will allocate resources to proposals aligned with six strategic pillars: road safety, food security, education, health, income strengthening, and circularity.

The program seeks to support approximately 100 projects over the next two years, aiming to strengthen the work of over 400,000 active delivery personnel on the platform each month. Delivery personnel, category collectives, social businesses, and civil society organizations can participate with proposals that promote concrete and structural improvements, with the potential to generate lasting impact for delivery personnel and their communities.

"Our goal is to broaden the impact reach of delivery drivers and the organizations working alongside them. This edition is designed to support projects with the potential for real transformation, whether in access to education, traffic safety, income enhancement, health promotion, or other areas aligned with the program's pillars. We want to invest in initiatives that leave a positive and lasting legacy for those who live on delivery, their families, and the communities around them," says Luana Ozemela, vice president of Impact and Sustainability at iFood.

iFood Chega Junto launched in 2023 as part of the company's commitment to social solutions and strengthening the delivery driver community. In the first edition, R$1,000,000 was invested in 25 selected projects from over 500 proposals, directly impacting over 11,000 people. The first edition helped redesign this second call for proposals, with more resources, a broader scope, and a focus on foundational initiatives.

The project selection for this second edition of Chega Junto will be conducted by an external committee of experts from various institutions and social impact areas, supported by the consulting firm Semente Negócios. Semente Negócios is responsible for the entire application, selection, and follow-up of the initiatives. Possible formats include workshops, events, technological platforms, applications, webinars, and more, always focusing on the well-being of delivery personnel and their communities.
