Greentech Launches Online Course on Conducting Inventories to Reduce Carbon Emissions

Recently, the Senate approved the Bill (PL) regulating the carbon credit market in Brazil, compensating companies that reduce emissions and penalizing the most polluting ones. To assist in adapting to the proposal and creating a decarbonization strategy, ZayaGreentech, which develops and simplifies the calculation of companies' environmental impact, has launched the masterclass "Greenhouse Gas Inventory." Registration is now open, and the course will be available online on December 29th.

Until this day, sustainability managers and professionals can register for free, as the company also aims to promote access to education on the subject and demonstrate the intuitive usability of its software in the classroom. The idea is to show participants how to create greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories, the first step in establishing a low-carbon economy. With this mapping, it is possible to identify the largest sources of pollution and, consequently, the sectors that should be prioritized to reduce environmental impacts.

The course is produced by Ricardo Dinato and Jéssica Campanha, specialists in the GHG Protocol, an internationally recognized standard for accounting and reporting greenhouse gas emissions. This set of guidelines is one of the leading global references for corporate sustainability reporting, and is even adapted to the national corporate context within the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program.

"This masterclass was carefully crafted with a team of experts to teach companies how to be more sustainable in business," says Isabela Basso, co-founder of Zaya. "GEE inventories are fundamental tools for defining clear carbon neutrality strategies, which contributes to process optimization, resource savings, alignment with environmental certifications, and highlighting the commitment to the planet's future to clients and investors," she concludes.

Course Structure
Spanning more than two hours, the course is divided into two modules. The first module comprises five lessons, providing an overview of what an inventory is, its various formats within companies, and its importance in the corporate sector. This section teaches, for example, how to distinguish between Scope 1 (direct emissions from operations), Scope 2 (indirect emissions resulting from the company's own electricity use), and Scope 3 (indirect emissions from the operations' supply chain).

The second approach is more practical, providing a step-by-step guide on how to create the document. This section includes explanatory videos on key concepts of CO2 quantification and scopes in the daily operations of organizations, as well as explanations of each category and where to find data for emission accounting.

For more information and to register for free during Zaya's Black Friday period, the Green Week Zaya (after this date, the course will cost the full R$1,740.00), simply access this link. link.
