Curitiba will host a groundbreaking celebration of digital communication in the country: the Brazil Publisher Awards (BPA). The Brazil Publisher Awards received over 100 entries from across the country, a significant milestone for an award in its inaugural edition. Publishers and portals from 23 states registered, highlighting the diversity and strength of the digital market in Brazil, and emphasizing the broad reach and importance of this initiative nationwide.
"The finalists stand out for promoting education, engagement, and social transformation, contributing directly to their communities," comments Marcelo Petrelli, president of the National Association of Brazilian Publishers (ANPB).
Participants were evaluated based on criteria extending far beyond quantitative metrics like pageviews and followers. The analysis conducted by approximately 30 judges focused on content quality, positive impact, contribution to the population, and the sustainability of the adopted practices.
"The awards will not only celebrate the best in the market, but also contribute to strengthening the sector, highlighting the importance of a plural and diverse media throughout the country," emphasizes Riadis Dornelles, vice-president of ANPB.
The finalists competed in eleven categories, encompassing diverse niches. Each participant presented a defensive piece highlighting their performance and relevance, going beyond specific case studies to focus on innovative projects or broad defenses. Up to three finalists were selected in each category.
The category recognizing websites that stand out for offering relevant and reliable information to their local communities received submissions from 17 Brazilian states, with more than 45 websites among them.
