Cielo now offers Tap to Pay on iPhone for customers to accept payments by approach

Cielo, one of the largest and most traditional acquirers in Brazil, now allows its Brazilian customers to accept payments by in-person approach with Tap to Pay on the iPhone easily and securely.

Tap to Pay on iPhone accepts all forms of payment by approaching the Visa and Mastercard flags, including credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and other digital wallets, using only an iPhone and the Cielo app for iOS without the need for additional payment terminal. At checkout, the customer will simply hold their payment method by approaching the merchant's iPhone, and the payment will be completed safely using NFC technology. Tap to Pay on iPhone also supports PIN entry, which include accessibility options.    

Tap to Pay approach payment acceptance technology on Apple iPhone uses the built-in features of iPhone to keep merchant and customer data private and secure.When a payment is processed, Apple does not store card numbers or transaction information on the device or on Apple servers.

Tap to Pay on iPhone allows Cielo customers to use a payment solution that is easy to set up and use. Merchants will be able to unlock payment acceptance by approach via the Cielo iOS app on an iPhone XS or higher with the latest version of iOS. Merchants can simply download the Cielo app from the Apple App Store to start accepting payments in minutes.    

Tap to Pay on iPhone is also available to Cielo customers through an SDK, enabling developers who want to integrate the frictionless payment experience into their apps.
