Bemobi anticipates Pix for approach to essential services sectors

Bemobi, specialized in essential recurring payment solutions, announced the launch of Pix by approach and prepares its more than five thousand machines (SmartPOS) distributed throughout Brazil, so that its customers can already receive payments by the modality. In anticipation of the official calendar of the Central Bank. The service is in the implementation phase for the largest energy distributors, such as Light and Equatorial, and education, such as the Salta Group.

Data from ABECS (Brazilian Association of Credit Card and Services Companies) indicate that 61% of consumers already use the approach as a payment resource. With Pix by approximation, the consumer will have one more convenient option, allowing instant and contactless transactions.

Payment with Pix by approximation works in a similar way to cards via digital wallet, such as Google Pay. To make the payment, the customer only approaches the mobile phone to payment terminals, such as machines, and authorizes the operation through an authentication, such as reading biometrics.

“The integration of the new Pix features is a fundamental pillar in Bemobi's strategy, for this factor that we anticipate the initiative of the Central Bank and we have already prepared our payment points for this” modality, says Gadner Vieira, vice president of utilities and education at Bemobi. “For the consumer, Pix by approximation reduces friction at the time of making a payment, since it simplifies the process and eliminates steps, such as the opening of the banking application, required in payment by QR Code. For companies, besides being a quick and efficient option, it is an alternative that contributes to reducing the ACHR default, it is concluded.

Two other features that will revolutionize payments for recurring essential services in the country will be: Pix by Biometrics, which will optimize the digital payment journeys (online) of Pix, scheduled for the first quarter. And the automatic Pix, in which customers can schedule the payment of bills on a recurring basis, without going through confirmation processes month by month, which is expected to start operation in June.

For the CTO/CPO of Bemobi, Felipe Goldin, the implementation of new technologies is a crucial step for the future of payments in Brazil.“The new features represent a great opportunity for evolution, towards a more digital and automatic journey.Soon, this should significantly reduce the use of the bank slip.”

“O Pix by approach arrives to offer our customers another practical and efficient payment option. We are excited to anticipate this functionality that will bring more security and flexibility”, says Baltazar Lira Araujo Junior, corporate executive management and operation of the collection of Equatorial.

Traditionally, the sector of recurring charges of essential services, such as energy, education, telecommunications, and health, has mostly used the bank slip as a standard form of collection. This method, in a less digitized and banked Brazil, played a key role in the collection of basic services, serving a large part of the population, banked or not. In the last 5 years, Bemobi has specialized in recurring payments, initially supporting mobile phone operators with digital plans based on credit card collection. This focus and specialization allowed Bemobi to develop technological platforms that optimize the conversion of collecting recurring payments, reducing default and loyalty to customers.
