The Union of Cargo Transport and Logistics Companies in Rio Grande do Sul (SETCERGS) held, on Thursday (28/11), the election for the new board that will command the entity in the biennium 2025-2026. The election took place in hybrid format, allowing the face-to-face voting at the union headquarters in Porto Alegre, and also online, from 10h to 18h. On a single plate, the members elected the entrepreneur Delmar Albarello, from the Logistics Exchange, as the new president. The management will begin on January 1st, 20th, with a defined date of 20th, with a festival.
Delmar Albarello, a professional with a long history in the logistics sector and current effective director of SETCERGS, will take the lead with the purpose of intensifying the dialogue with public and private entities and implementing the new Statute of the entity.
“We will be committed to facing challenges guided by ethics and transparency. The focus will be to strengthen articulations with public and private entities and, above all, listen to our associates.We will work intensively with the new Statute, ensuring that it is a tool to strengthen and modernize the sector.In addition, we will focus on valuing and improving the image of cargo transportation, continuing the excellent management carried out by Mr. Sergio Gabardo”, declared the president-elect.
Albarello is a founding partner of Exchange Logistics, current effective director of SETCERGS, president of the Business Center of Porto Seco and vice president of the Food Bank of Porto Alegre.
The current presidency, led by Sergio Mario Gabardo, of Transport Gabardo, ends its term at the end of this year, after two administrations marked by significant advances for the sector such as the growth of TranspoSul, implementation of important programs such as the SETCERGS Road Safety Program, the new Certification ESG Journey of SETCERGS and support actions to those who need it most put into practice by the Social Action Center of the Union. He was also the protagonist of the largest logistics operation in the state of RS with the gaucho carriers and associates in the flood scenario, bringing donations to many communities in the greatest climate tragedy of the state.
