Brazilians are feeling in their pockets the increase in prices of Easter eggs, but still do not want to stop gifting special people. A survey conducted by Zoox Smart Data points out that 44,96% of Brazilians intend to buy chocolates this year, while 29% chose not to go shopping and 26,06% remain undecided.
For 58,21% of respondents who have not yet purchased eggs or are in doubt, the main reason is the increase in the price of chocolates this year. The claim of 66,13% of Brazilians is to spend only R$ 100 in chocolates, while 20,94% want to spend up to R$ 200 and 12,93% to more than R$ 300.
This point, price and promotion, was in the ranking of the causes that most influence when buying chocolate in this period, with 58.08%, followed by brand and quality (33.86%) and packaging and gifts (10.05%).
The high value has caused the number of people presented to decrease this year. According to the survey, 63,31% intend to give chocolates to up to two people, while 21,62% of the public must present up to four and 15,07% more than five people.
Although many Brazilians opt for other forms of chocolate, such as candy boxes and bars, Easter eggs remain the leaders in public preference, being the main option to buy 64,93% of respondents, following chocolate bars (20,32%) and box of chocolates (14,75%).
Even with the form of e-commerce, the supermarket remains the main place when buying chocolates, being the option of 51,82% of Brazilians, while 33,17% opt for specialized stores and chocolatiers, artisanal sellers (8,70%) and internet (6,31%).
The survey was conducted between 12 and 15 april and had 3,596 respondents.
