Great leaders and experts gathered to discuss the importance and impacts of environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices on the corporate environment, in the third edition of the ESG Forum, from LIDE Parana, which took place on August 21 in Curitiba (PR). The meeting, which took place at UniCuritiba, aimed to connect and inspire professionals to adopt sustainable and socially responsible practices, bringing a series of lectures, panels and presentations of successful cases of companies and social organizations, such as Renault, Recycle, Engie, Copel, Estre Ambiental, RDP Energia, Friends of Good and ChildFund Brazil.
In the panel on Social Responsibility, Elisabete Waller, president of the Board of Directors of ChildFund Brazil, shared the stage with Luciane Pedro, manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at ENGIE Brazil, and Graziela Pontes, coordinator of Responsibility and Social Impact at the Renault Institute, who shared their main projects, talked about the importance of social partnerships and made a brief presentation about their actions focused on ESG.
“The big challenge for Brazil today is the S, for a very simple reason: we are champions in social inequalities and here [at the event] we saw sectors that are working to break these cycles, and that we can increasingly unite, have more strength, because we must return to society a positive impact, either in the environmental form and in social commitment”, highlights Elisabete.
For the president of the Board of Directors of ChildFund Brazil, the union between companies, society and organizations is fundamental for social and environmental transformation. “We have a social commitment. Society must unite to balance the cycles of inequalities and cause a positive transformation. The more companies engage in this movement, the more strength we will have to make a difference. We have been in Brazil for 58 years and what we most need are partnerships that join us to reach more and more people. If we can impact the 20 million children that exist in Brazil needing to be impacted, this is our dream. The ESG Forum also featured three panels with highlights lectures, such as the opening with Virgilio Viana, of the Sustainable Amazon Foundation (FAS), focused on the development of the Amazon territory.Alcione Albanesi, from Friends of Good, presented the social impact of the institution in the Northeast, which serves 150 thousand people and maintains a school with a high performance index in IDEB. In the end, the event was closed by Estevam Sartorelli, of Dengo Chocolates, which addressed the transformation of the country through sustainable business and direct support to farmers.
