The evolution of ESG: Zaya Greenhouse Gas Inventory software enables practical and automated calculation of emissions

According to a study conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs & Corporate Reputation Brazil, only 23% of the Brazilian public believes that companies are doing well in complying with sustainable actions. On the other hand, a survey by Amcham Brazil points out that 70% of national institutions actively invest in ESG practices Zaya, greentech that elaborates and simplifies the calculation of environmental impact of companies, provides its tool for Greenhouse Gas Inventory (GHG) for market.

Focusing on making the calculation of environmental impact more practical and strategic, the solution acts intuitively, from simplifying more operational steps, such as data collection, to allowing measurement within scope 3 of emissions. This makes the software an ideal solution for companies of the most diverse sizes and sectors that are starting to report or digitize their calculation in the inventory.

“We realized that companies evolved into software in several areas, such as HR, legal, marketing, but that sustainability remained stagnant, with the need for spreadsheets, emails, folders, and documents. This required an evolution so that sustainability is really a priority within the companies”, says Isabela Basso, founder of Zaya.

Developed by the greentech team of experts according to the methodology of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program, the software has features to meet the main pains reported by companies, from: filling and visualization of results per unit of the organization, identification of the main sources of emissions with real-time graphics and inclusion of evidence to facilitate audit processes to delegation of those responsible for internal data collection.

According to the executive, the use of the software contributes to a panoramic and integrated view of sustainability.“Zaya's software brings three main benefits: it is faster than internal spreadsheets, generates data with higher quality and engages people from the most diverse areas of companies, making the inventory something strategic and transcending the area of sustainability”, he details.

Market heated
The launch of Zaya's GHG inventory follows a movement to strengthen the global market for sustainability management software. In 2024, 535 companies publicly reported their emissions.

In addition to the new platform, the company had recently announced a solution aimed at diagnosing supplier engagement, allowing companies to act as catalysts for climate action within their value chains, encouraging and allowing their suppliers and/or customers to also calculate their emissions.

According to Basso, the projects have been developed with a focus on ensuring an increasingly broad view of the environmental impact of the corporate scenario. “Cada new launch aims to contribute to companies to strategically evaluate their environmental impact. We are in an era in which sustainability has become a must and we act with a focus on simplifying the processes of calculating and mitigating the” emissions, he concludes.
