In May, Mecanizou expanded its operations to new areas of Sao Paulo and the city of Guarulhos, responding to high demand in previously unmet regions. Currently, the startup has more than 300 suppliers and a database of 1 million automotive parts.

Cyberthreats: Data Protection Measures for Companies

With the advancement of technology, protection against data leaks and sensitive information has become a top priority for businesses. In an ever-changing digital world, lack of knowledge, unpreparedness, lack of adequate security infrastructures and resistance to change can result in cyber attacks that compromise operations and reputation.

Albano Momberg, professor of the Computer Science course at the University Center of Our Lady of Sponsorship (CEUNSP), highlights the need for companies to be proactive and invest in technologies capable of detecting and responding to threats in real time. “Companies need to have a robust information security policy, including data encryption, multifactor authentication, conduct regular audits, and, in addition, invest in Artificial Intelligence and machine learning”, says Momberg.

The human factor is also crucial.Momberg emphasizes that investing in constant employee training in good security practices helps reduce vulnerabilities.Education and awareness of safe practices are essential to strengthen defense against cyberthreats.

For smaller companies, which may not have the resources to invest in robust security systems, there are low-cost alternatives such as firewalls, antivirus, and automatic backup tools. Outsourcing cybersecurity services to experts can also be a viable solution.

“It is important that decision makers and digital security officers of companies keep up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends and practices. Attending specialized conferences and forums is crucial to innovate in the protection of” data, adds Momberg.

While digital security technology continues to evolve, challenges grow as cybercriminals improve their techniques.

Brazil Faces Over 3.7 Million Online Fraud Attempts in 2023

Brazilian e-commerce has gone through a challenging year in 2023, with more than 3.7 million fraud attempts recorded in a total of 277.4 million online sales orders, according to a report by ClearSale.Fraud attempts accounted for 1.4% of orders, adding up to a total value of R$ 3.5 billion. The average ticket for these frauds was R$ 925.44, double the average value of legitimate orders.

Mobile phones led fraud attempts in Brazil, with 228.1 thousand occurrences, followed by telecommunications (221.6 thousand) and beauty products (208.2 thousand). Other categories affected included sneakers, household goods, sports, furniture, TVs/monitors, refrigerators/freezers and games. Fraud focused on products that were easily resold and high added value, showing that no category is immune.

To combat fraud, companies must adopt internal security policies, training employees in good cybersecurity practices and verifying the authenticity of websites and emails before providing sensitive information. It is essential to use encryption to protect data and invest in anti-fraud solutions and information security tools, such as firewalls, to defend against cyberattacks and reduce financial risks.

Daniel Nascimento, Sales Head of Soluti, emphasizes the need to invest in digital security. “ Companies in Goias and throughout Brazil need to improve their security strategies by investing in employee training and awareness, as well as security tools. Without this, the dispute against attackers is greatly compromised, almost at '00'”, says Nascimento.

Soluti, the leader in the digital certification market in Brazil, offers technological solutions that help companies avoid fraud and ensure the authenticity of transactions. Nascimento highlights the crucial role of digital education in reducing fraud. “It is essential to train the team to be able to identify an attack. A conscious person can prevent the attack and even prevent it from being disseminated, already warning the company's security or IT team.”

Despite the available solutions, small and medium-sized companies face significant challenges when implementing these measures. “The main challenge is that many companies still do not understand the gravity of this scenario and are not prepared to defend themselves. Many managers believe that they will not be targeted because of the size of their companies, which leaves the guard low and makes them prone to suffer attacks that can cause significant damage”, warns Daniel Nascimento.

The increase in online fraud attempts in Brazil highlights the urgent need for robust digital security measures. With the increasing sophistication of cyberattacks, investing in technology and education is essential to protect companies and ensure consumer confidence in e-commerce.

With the rise of AI in corporate financial management, business decisions about the future have become faster and safer.

Financial management plays a fundamental role in ensuring accurate and strategic information for the success of businesses. In the current business environment, the speed and quality of financial information are crucial for ensuring profitability and avoiding losses.

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as a key tool to streamline and improve decision-making processes in our globalized world. Companies can now, for example, quickly analyze the best conditions for acquiring raw materials in various parts of the world, aiming to reduce costs and improve profitability.

In the financial field, AI allows for faster and more accurate decision-making by efficiently processing large volumes of data. This is explained by Teresinha Carvalho, master's degree holder and professor of... Financial Management Course Do CEUNSP. (This translates directly as "Do CEUNSP." It's likely an abbreviation for a Brazilian university or institution and requires more context for a better translation).

With the accelerated evolution of technology, new opportunities to improve management and decision-making processes arise daily. Companies that fail to adapt to new technologies risk falling behind, losing significant opportunities.Integrating technological tools into financial management not only streamlines the availability of previous results with greater detail, but also provides essential comparative data to guide future decisions. The professor also highlights that AI-generated reports are comprehensive, extending the vision of both the past and the future, benefiting managers and business leaders.

In addition to facilitating the analysis of large volumes of data, AI also plays an important role in identifying and mitigating investment risks, ensuring safer decisions for both companies and investors."..., says the professor, also warning that challenges and risks should be part of this process, understood as important for us to be safe and confident in its use aiming for growth."

We must understand the significant moment of change underway, where information is becoming available more rapidly. We must adapt to analyze and make faster decisions consistently to leverage the speed and quality of what's to come.I conclude.

For the president of the Board of Directors of ChildFund Brazil, the union between companies, society and organizations is fundamental for social and environmental transformation. “We have a social commitment. Society must unite to balance the cycles of inequalities and cause a positive transformation. The more companies engage in this movement, the more strength we will have to make a difference. We have been in Brazil for 58 years and what we most need are partnerships that join us to reach more and more people. If we can impact the 20 million children that exist in Brazil needing to be impacted, this is our dream. And whoever wants to come with us, we are at the disposal, at the disposal, Elan 1-is highlighted, the organization.

Etus Launches AI Solution for Posts and Images Creation for Social Networks of SMEs

Etus, a platform specialized in social network management and member of the LWSA group, has just announced a new and innovative solution based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the creation of posts and images. The new functionality, integrated with the Edi co-pilot, promises to revolutionize the online presence of companies, especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Etus AI, which already performs several functions on the platform, now includes image generators from prompts and full posts, with text, image, hashtags and suggestion of best time for posting.“These optimized and automated solutions strengthen the online presence of companies in social networks”, says Livia Lampert, executive manager of Etus and Kinghost.

Key benefits of the new tool include task automation, data analytics, marketing personalization, and creating more effective, targeted campaigns based on real data. Other features include text overlay for pre-publication testing, a calendar of important seasonal dates, and a media library with images and videos.

Available exclusively on the Etus platform, AI integrates with several social networks, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Tumblr and Threads. To use the tool, simply access the Etus website and hire the service. In creating the posts, the user must provide a detailed description of what they want, choose the size and style, and the AI executes the request.

According to Livia Lampert, the new Edi features meet the growing demand for more elaborate and more comprehensive posts, especially for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs who cannot outsource this type of service. A recent survey of Sebrae (Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Enterprises) shows that SMEs represent 27% of the GDP of the country, which has about 9 million micro and small companies.

“With Edi, we are democratizing access to AI for small entrepreneurs and companies of all sizes. We offer creative support that assists in the production of end-to-end content, allowing companies to optimize their campaigns, automate processes and enhance the reach and efficiency of their digital strategies, according to their specific needs”, says Livia Lampert.

She adds that the combination of AI and personalization allows the creation of large volumes of content in less time, freeing copywriters and marketers to focus on more strategic tasks, optimizing human and financial resources.“A Edi is intuitive, fully in Portuguese, but comprises multiple languages, adding to the strategies of small entrepreneurs and optimizing their work and that of their employees”, she concludes.
