Pinbank, Transferência Segura, and GrainChain launch app to facilitate used car sales in Brazil

According to data from Senatran (National Traffic Secretariat), Brazil has approximately 173 million vehicles, with over 40 million of them having some type of restriction in the system. Another survey by Fenauto (Federation of Used Vehicle Dealers) shows that nearly 16 million used vehicles were sold in 2024. Thinking about optimizing the digitization, security, and speed of this market, Transferência Segura, Pinbankand GrainChain, developed in partnership with the app "SecureTransfer.com”.

The platform combines regulatory access, banking security through escrow deposit, secure orchestration, and a streamlined journey for businesses and citizens. It works as follows: after the buyer and seller define the terms of the transaction, the system, connected to Renainf (National Register of Traffic Infractions), identifies debts and restrictions to summarize the vehicle's status; then, the buyer deposits the purchase amount into a regulated account, with automated legal-financial compensation; finally, documentation is updated, funds are released, and both parties receive digital receipts.

For Pinbank CEO Felipe Negri, this structure can help reduce fraud, accelerate negotiations, and build trust for both private and dealership transactions. "The secondary vehicle market is huge in Brazil, and currently, transferring a vehicle can take weeks, plus there are risks like scams, cancellations, and disputes. The idea of..."SecureTransfer.com"We eliminate these obstacles by offering more security and transparency for buyers and sellers. The guarantee deposit eliminates the need for the infamous 'deposit' and avoids delays and headaches before the purchase is finalized," he says.

Leandro Zanardi, CTO of 'SecureTransfer.comIt reinforces that digital transformation is inevitable. "Buying a car doesn't have to be a leap of faith or a complex and risky move. Therefore, we created an intuitive and secure platform that synchronizes payment completion with the legal transfer of ownership. All parties are informed in real-time about the process status," he explains.

Another differentiator is that the solution was designed with dispatchers in mind: each transaction is assigned to a specific dispatcher who provides support and ensures compliance throughout the process. Furthermore, the platform is already integrated with over 240 vehicle inspection facilities nationwide.

The solution also features a robust auditing layer, with each step verifiable and traceable, helping to detect irregularities early and enabling clear resolutions. "All phases are managed effectively, minimizing risks and enabling the completion of negotiations in just a few days," highlights Luis Macias, CEO of GrainChain.

Initial launch is in São Paulo and the Federal District, focused on person-to-person transfers. Roll-out to other states and for legal entities and retailers is underway, with plans for accelerated expansion. The service will be available through a web portal and mobile application (iOS and Android), with tiered plans for high-volume partners. Marketplaces and dealerships can integrate the tool as a white-label or via API.
