THE Luft Logistics it is expanding its fleet of vehicles powered by CNG (natural gas vehicle), already in operation in the Southeast region, to the Northeast. The initiative aims to serve a route that crosses the states of Paraiba and Pernambuco, connecting the cities of Campina Grande (PB) and Carpina (PE). The advance is the result of a partnership between Luft Solutions, specialized in logistics for retail, and the Alpargates, reinforcing the commitment to sustainability.
The partnership is an example of how companies can join forces to achieve common goals.“Logistic partnerships demand a special focus on ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) actions. Adding efforts with Luft, replacing diesel-powered vehicles with more sustainable alternatives, is important to reinforce the goal of reducing our pollutant emissions in our logistics operation”, says Jayvison Amorim, Director of Logistics Operations at Alpargatas.
According to Joao Roldao, Transport Manager at Luft Solutions, the choice of truck was strategic.“The model decreases CO2 emissions in the atmosphere by 16%, offering a power of 460 hp and autonomy of 650 km. This technology is important to reduce the carbon footprint over long distances, promoting cleaner and more efficient” operations, he says.
Certifications in ESG
This year, Luft Logistics received, in the United States, the CQCIT and CITGREEN certifications, granted by the International Chamber of Industry and Transport (CIT). The company also won the 2030 Today seal, reaffirming its commitment to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) of the 2030 Agenda, which are the goals adopted by 193 countries at the UN (United Nations Organization), focusing on the economic, social and environmental dimensions.
