According to the Brazilian E-commerce Association (ABComm), e-commerce in Brazil is expected to grow by 101% in 2025, surpassing R$224 billion in revenue. Much of this is due to various retailers adopting payment processes to boost sales, such as acquiring services.

Because of this dynamic, customers tend to give up less of their purchases, since Baymard Institute reveals that about 17% of cart abandonments occur due to complex and long checkouts.The institute also points out that operations with these characteristics caused an average of withdrawals of 70% in 2023.

Beyond agility, Negri also adds that acquisition contributes to better shopping experiences due to its ability to generate strategic insights. "Companies can collect and analyze data related to transactions, which show the paths for brands to adapt to market trends and new consumer habits," he points out.

Fraud reduction

Another important advantage of acquirer services is the protection against online fraud attempts.A recent survey by DataSenado conducted in partnership with Nexus illustrates this challenge for e-commerce by revealing that one in four Brazilians was the victim of digital scams in a period of 12 months.

Another achievement by Pinbank itself reinforces this benefit. The fintech received MasterCard's top award in the "approval rate and fraud in non-present cards (e-commerce)" category, demonstrating its capabilities as an acquirer to serve high-volume markets, positively impact the customer experience, and offer the strongest barrier against these criminal attempts.

For brands to perform well throughout the year, they must first gain consumer trust and prove they have a solid financial management system within the digital environment,” he concludes.
