Transactional fraud and data leaks are the main occurrences in Brazilian companies, according to a research by Serasa Experian

The frauds that hit Brazilian companies the most in the last year involve transactional payments (28,4%), data leaks (26,8%) and financial fraud (for example, when fraudsters request a payment to a fraudulent bank account) (26,5%), according to the corporate cutout of the Identity and Fraud Report 2025, produced by Serasa Experian, the first and largest datatech in Brazil. This scenario increases the sense of urgency of companies, making 58,5% of them more concerned with each transaction can be a reflection of each transaction that can be a target of the door that can be a fraud. 

In the first half of 2025 alone, Brazil recorded 6.9 million attempted scams, according to the Datatech Fraud Attempt Indicator.In order to respond to this risky environment, organizations have prioritized layered prevention.Also according to the report, 8 out of 10 companies already rely on more than one authentication mechanism, an index that reaches 87.5% among large corporations.

The most traditional methods continue to predominate in defense strategies: document verification (51,6%) and cadastral analysis (47,1%) are still the most used. However, other solutions have been gaining ground, such as facial biometrics (29,1%) and device analysis (25%). The industrial sector, for example, leads the adoption of biometrics, with 42,3%. Consist consistency in the choice of security mechanisms between different segments reinforces a collective movement of adaptation, even at different speeds.

According to the Director of Authentication and Fraud Prevention, Rodrigo Sanchez, “a biometrics has stood out in the most recent regulations and, because it is already part of the Brazilian consumer routine, tends to be increasingly adopted by companies as a central element in identity verification strategies and combating fraud”.
