Santander will train anyone who is looking to keep the accounts up to date and take the first steps to start undertaking or investing. The Bank has launched an introduction course to financial education, free, with easy-to-understand and short-term language. There are nine classes that added to complementary materials total five hours of content.
The course validates joint resolution number 8 of the Central Bank of Brazil, which guides all institutions authorized to operate by the BC, to offer financial education measures to their individual clients and individual entrepreneurs, including individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs).
“We have been promoting, for more than 10 years, 100% free financial education for individuals and companies of different sizes, as well as a more strategic look at entrepreneurs who are starting, even when their business is still starting”, says Franco Fasoli, director of Companies and Institutions at Santander and responsible for the Advance Program.
About the free financial education course
The program addresses ways for an efficient management of the personal budget, evolving to tips on investments or for those who want to start a business of their own. The highlighted subjects in the course are the notions of how to control the money that comes and goes (cash flow management), action plans for indebted, a practical guide to start constituting an emergency reserve or to realize a dream, in addition to the conscious use of credit.
The last two classes are more geared towards those who want to invest, multiplying the capital they already have. The course is finished with a basic initiation theme for first-time entrepreneurs, with notions of using banking solutions, even how to set price for the service or product that will be offered by the future business.
All content was developed by experts from the Advance Program, an entrepreneurial education program that is close to completing 10 years. Since 2015, the Bank has brought knowledge to more than 200 thousand people, through online courses and face-to-face events that it promotes throughout the country, in the municipalities farthest from the major urban centers.
Gabriela Bertol, Head of Sustainability at Santander Brazil, points out that this training is another example of how Santander is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) until 2030. “Financial education contributes directly to seven of the 17 objectives of the global agenda. Our commitment is to promote the conscious use of credit to foster economic and social development throughout the country”, adds the executive of Santander.
