Engage Experience 2024 brings together 2 thousand professionals and executives from the main IT companies to reflect on the future of technology

Representatives of the largest companies in the technology sector met at Engage Experience 2024 to present projects and discuss prospects for the future of the sector. This year's edition of the national meeting on innovation, technology and business in technology, held in Sao Paulo by Ingram Micro Brazil, brought together 2,000 professionals in the area with the theme “ Innovation as Art” and its application in several segments.

The panel program, mediated by journalist Sheila Magalhaes, was spoken by executives from large companies. The Women IMPowered panel, dedicated to technology professionals, mediated by Sheila Magalhaes (director of Journalism at Band News FM), had the participation of Fabiana Schurhaus (director of the Technical Technology Team of IBM Brazil), Carla Santos (director of Cloud & Digital Solutions at Ingram Micro Brasil), Larissa di Pietro (Marketing Director at Cisco) and Aline Aline Dantas (Head of Sales at Veritas Brazil), who shared their experiences to reconcile family life, successful careers and their journeys in the IT market.

The event space also brought together 40 booths and an alternative stage for presentations by partners. The second part of the event was marked by inspiring talks by names such as Tiago Mattos, co-founder of Aerolito, and Pedro Calabrez, neuroscientist at NeuroVox.

Flavio Moraes Jr., VP & Brazil Chief Country Executive of Ingram Micro, draws a parallel between the theme of this year's Engage Experience and the complex distribution sector in which the company operates.“New forms of consumption emerge at all times. The theme of this meeting is a provocation for art to inspire the transformation of the” market, he says.

“Need is the mother of innovation, Plato said, and it is an artistic process. So we have the challenge of reinventing ourselves every day

Among the highlights of the event, Moraes pointed out the areas of Software & Applications, Cloud and Cybersecurity and AI (Artificial Intelligence) that, according to IDC (International Data Corporation), grew double digits in the post-pandemic and will continue to grow in the next three years.“For 2025, about 45.5% of CIOs intend to increase the productivity of their organizations, 32% of them will create or improve products and services, 30.3% will prepare to face the competitors and 29,3T3.

On the topics that will be more strategic for companies in 2025, the VP of Ingram Micro emphasized that GenAI (generative artificial intelligence) should prevail, with 45.5% of membership. IT/Cloud Security solutions will come just below, will have 42.4% and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning will occupy 29.3% of business opportunities.“A artificial intelligence is a market reality. Delivering and developing AI is a current need in the strategic agenda to serve customers in”, advised attendees at the audience.

Moraes also took stock of Ingram Micro's business in recent years. “We acquired BRLink, our cloud services arm, which works the full journey to the cloud with good efficiency and cost. We have 55 connected resellers offering the possibilities of public and hybrid clouds. In addition, we expanded our coverage model to foster business in resellers, with the hiring of representatives in the North region, in Bethlehem, and in the South region to serve the public sector and we continue focusing on large corporations.” The executive also related the digital integration portals with resellers: the IM Innovation Hub (IMNova) and the IM20 will be available in Xvantage 2.

According to VP, in parallel, the opportunities are in the reuse of the semi-new equipment. “Investimos in ITAD (IT Asset Disposition), with advanced logistics services in the processes of safe and sustainable management of information technology equipment that have reached the end of its useful life, such as computers, servers, smartphones and tablets. Ingram Micro purchases used equipment, thus collaborating for the renewal of the technological park and encouraging responsible disposal. These machines undergo a reliable preparation process in our laboratories and return, without any risk, to resales in the class of used.”

As in previous editions, Engage Experience 2024 adopted sustainability practices in its organization, and each presentation had translation to Libras (Brazilian Sign Language). Responsible for the organization, Welington Sousa, Marketing Director, B.I. and CX of Ingram Micro Brazil, explains that the innovation process is similar to the artistic, involving experimentation, failures and iterations, valuing the creative journey and the search for unique solutions.“ Innovation often arises from the intersection of different disciplines, as well as art, and collaborating with professionals from various areas can lead to innovative and creative solutions.
