Meet the finalists of the Brazil Publisher Awards

Curitiba will be the scene of an unprecedented celebration of digital communication in the country: the Brazil Publisher Awards (BPA), national award dedicated to recognizing the best websites, publishers and digital portals of the country takes place on December 2 at Hard Rock Cafe Curitiba.

Promoted by the National Association of Publishers of Brazil (ANPB) and co-hosted by ad tech PremiumAds, BPA seeks to highlight the relevance and transformative impact that websites, especially regional ones, have on Brazilian communication and society. 

Recognition of impact and quality

The Brazil Publisher Awards received more than 100 entries from all over the country, a significant milestone for an award in its first edition. Publishers and portals from 23 states have signed up, which highlights the diversity and strength of the digital market in Brazil, as well as highlighting the wide reach and importance of this initiative at the national level.

“The finalists stand out for promoting education, engagement and social transformation, contributing directly to their” communities, comments Marcelo Petrelli, president of the National Association of Publishers of Brazil (ANPB). 

Participants were evaluated by criteria that go far beyond quantitative metrics, such as pageviews and followers.The analysis of the approximately 30 judges focused on the quality of content, the positive impact generated, the contribution to the population and the sustainability of the practices adopted.

“A award will not only celebrate the best in the market, but will also contribute to the strengthening of the sector, highlighting the importance of a plural and diverse media throughout the country”, said Riadis Dornelles, vice president of ANPB.

The finalists competed in eleven categories, covering different niches. Each participant presented a defensive piece that evidenced their performance and relevance, going beyond specific cases, focusing on innovative projects or broad defenses, reaching up to three finalists each.

The category that recognizes sites that stand out for offering relevant and reliable information to their local communities, has received applications from 17 states in Brazil with more than 45 sites among them.
