José Roberto Campanelli, 69, is a food engineer with post-graduate degrees in marketing and finance, who built a diverse and successful career over the years. With experience in fast food and jewelry businesses, as well as sales at a cotton and textile brokerage firm, Campanelli has distinguished himself through his ability to adapt to different markets.
Always looking for opportunities, the entrepreneur identified a significant gap in the domestic services market by struggling to find a house cleaner. "I kept asking for referrals, schedules didn't work, it was quite difficult. Right at a time when my house was under renovation," Campanelli recounts.
Inspired by this episode, he founded Mary Help in 2011, Brazil's first franchise network for domestic service intermediation. The company was created to securely and efficiently mediate cleaning, house-cleaning, elder care, babysitting services, and others.
Mary Help's success in São José do Rio Preto, Campanelli's hometown, was immediate. By the end of its first year, the company entered the franchising sector, with the first franchised units beginning operations in 2012. He, who had previously held multiple roles, dedicated himself exclusively to Mary Help two years after its founding.
Recognized for its excellence in service, Mary Help has won four awards from the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) and currently boasts 164 franchised units across all regions of Brazil. The company distinguished itself in the cleaning and maintenance sector, inspiring the emergence of a new market segment, subsequently copied by other businesses.
Exclusive Insurance
Recently, Mary Help launched innovative insurance for its professionals, with coverage including compensation for medical and hospital expenses, partial and total disability, accidental death, and funeral assistance. It also offers a guaranteed daily income in cases of temporary absence due to accidents. "This action is a milestone for Mary Help, which once again innovates, bringing protection to professionals who, unfortunately, in the vast majority, do not contribute to INSS. We are committed to ensuring the well-being of this professional class and further strengthening our market position," says Campanelli.
José Roberto Campanelli exemplifies the true entrepreneurial spirit, transforming challenges into opportunities and constantly seeking innovations that add value to the market and society.
