The selection process for the ranking involved the participation of over 50,000 respondents across 34 countries and 17 different languages. Among the 385 banks recognized by Forbes in the United States, eight are Brazilian institutions. Between October and December 2024, respondents evaluated financial institutions where they held checking or savings accounts, had been customers within the last three years, or were familiar with through experiences shared by family and friends. All banks mentioned by respondents under these classifications were analyzed in the study.
Respondents were able to rate their satisfaction level with each institution and indicate the likelihood of recommending it to others. They also assigned scores based on five key aspects: trustworthiness, contractual terms (such as fees and charges), quality of service (including wait times and staff efficiency), performance of digital platforms (e.g., ease of navigation), and financial guidance provided. Additionally, they indicated which of these criteria they considered most relevant, and the weights assigned to each category were adjusted according to these preferences. Among all participating countries, trustworthiness was identified as the most relevant factor in evaluating financial institutions, standing out as a priority for the majority of people.
