Asia Shipping, Latin America's largest logistics integrator, held the 5th edition of Perxpectivas Comex 2026 this Wednesday (12), one of the main events in Brazilian foreign trade. The event brought together 600 people in person and a thousand online participants for a journey dedicated to exchanging ideas, networking, analysis, and projections on the future of international trade, economy, and geopolitics.
The program featured prominent names such as economist Ricardo Amorim, political scientist Professor HOC, and the multi-champion coach Bernardinho, in addition to leading executives from the logistics and port sectors. According to Alexandre Pimenta, CEO of Asia Shipping, the event reaffirms the company's commitment to the development of the sector.
“Perxpectivas is a dialogue space between those who think and those who do foreign trade, and with each edition, we reinforce our mission to inspire, share knowledge, and connect people. In a constantly changing global scenario, dialogue becomes even more essential, and collaboration is what generates solutions and strengthens the entire logistics chain,” highlighted the executive.
Geopolitics and global reconfiguration
Opening the program, Professor HOC analyzed the ongoing geopolitical transformations, highlighting the paradigm shift in relations between the United States and China, which have moved from economic interdependence to a more complex power game. The expert discussed the successes and failures of the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration and emphasized that the pursuit of geopolitical security, not just economic efficiency, has guided movements such as nearshoring and friendshoring.
According to him, the world is experiencing a new phase of instability and strategic repositioning, in which countries like Brazil are gaining relevance.
“Brazil has unique attributes, such as high generation of clean energy, natural resources, agricultural production, and strategic geographic position, which place it at an advantageous point in the new design of global value chains. Given the current global circumstances and tensions, the challenge is to maintain a neutral, strategic, and long-term oriented stance,” he stated.
Leadership and purpose
With years of experience on the courts, coach Bernardinho delivered an inspiring presentation on leadership, discipline, and excellence. Emphasizing the importance of a leader demanding discipline and results from the team, while also welcoming and caring for people, he highlighted values such as courage, focus, and humility in high-performance teams.
“As important as celebrating achievements is maintaining a beginner's spirit, even after success. Excellence is a moving target that can always be improved. The secret lies in choosing the pain of discipline, not the pain of regret,” he stated, to audience applause.
Economic scenario and opportunities for Brazil
Closing the lecture cycle, Ricardo Amorim addressed the current global economic context and its implications for Brazil. According to him, even in an environment of uncertainties caused by the new Trump government, the country should continue growing in 2026, driven by falling interest rates, the strengthening of agribusiness, and tax reform.
Amorim explained that although many sectors feared the impacts of the US tariff hike, the direct implication for Brazilian GDP in terms of exports should not exceed 0.6%. On the other hand, the relief for industries through the revision of taxes will revitalize a segment that has been practically stagnant for the last four decades.
“Brazil is experiencing a moment of opportunity. The combination of lower interest rates, favorable exchange rates, and more competitive freight creates a positive scenario for foreign trade. The trend is for the country to continue attracting investments and gaining space in global exports,” assessed the economist.
Interviews and Comex Panel
The Comex Panel, moderated by journalist Fabiana Panachão – who also hosted the event as master of ceremonies – brought together Washington Flores (Bandeirantes Deicmar), Felipe Fioravanti (Porto Itapoá), Adriano Merigli (JCB Latin America), and Paulo Souza (Guarulhos Airport).
The group debated topics such as infrastructure, logistics efficiency, and international competitiveness, reinforcing the importance of innovation and integration among the links in the logistics chain. Another novelty of this edition was the presence of presenter Rafael Cortez, who conducted exclusive backstage interviews with participants and panelists.
Perxpectives that connect
Among the participants, the mood was one of optimism and recognition of the event's relevance to the sector.
“The Asia Shipping event is highly anticipated. It's a space that connects people and makes one think about solutions. We take away learning and new ideas to apply to our businesses,” said Washington Flores, President of Bandeirantes Deicmar.
For João Neto, Director of MSC Mediterranean, the meeting is a benchmark. “Asia Shipping is an important partner for MSC, and Perxpectivas has already become an essential event for updating, exchanging insights, and strengthening connections.”
Clemir Alves, Director of Gratidão Empreendimentos, commented that the experience exceeded expectations, in terms of structure and content. “It's an event that broadens horizons and makes us rethink strategies, especially in relationships with clients and partners.”
Closing the celebrations for the event's fifth anniversary, Thiaguinho and band energized the audience with a vibrant musical show, followed by a DJ set that kept the celebratory mood until the very last moment.
The event featured a hybrid format — in-person meeting and live online broadcast, open to the public through free registration.
