Uber of domestic services starts operation with a proposal to digitize the sector

Bringing together technology and practicality, ProJob arrives in the market to digitize the hiring of domestic services in Brazil. Inspired by platforms like Uber and iFood, the application connects professionals such as housekeepers, gardeners, and caregivers for the elderly to nearby clients, based on geolocation and evaluation system. The operation is already active in Santa Catarina and aims to reach other regions in the coming months.

“The domestic services market in Brazil is huge but still operates largely in informality. ProJob was born to change this scenario. Our mission is to digitize this sector with an accessible platform that promotes productive inclusion, expands the visibility of professionals, and offers more security and trust for those who hire,” says Marcelo Oriano Junior, CEO of ProJob. “Technology needs to serve people. ProJob does not take away professionals’ autonomy—on the contrary, it offers freedom, reach, and professionalism for those who rely on these services. We are creating a sustainable ecosystem with transparency and dignity for both sides of the relationship,” he emphasizes.

The platform allows professionals to register for free, define their area of expertise, set their availability, and choose the regions they wish to serve. When a client searches for a service, the application displays availabilities based on location, evaluations, and prices. The client chooses the one that interests them the most and sends a request. Upon acceptance, the professional has access to the demand information and can send the corresponding preliminary quote. Payment is made within the app and is only released after confirmation, with GPS validation to ensure that the service was performed at the agreed location. The model aims to bring transparency, security, and agility for both service providers and clients.

According to the latest National Household Sample Survey (Pnad) by IBGE, in the last quarter of 2023, there were 6.3 million domestic workers counted. With digitization advancing into sectors such as transportation, food, and finance, the market still remains largely unexplored in terms of technology – a gap that ProJob aims to fill.

Although the business is currently only available in Santa Catarina and focused on services such as cleaning, gardening, and elderly care, the company already plans to expand to other regions of Brazil and include new types of services. The goal is to become the main reference in the country for hiring domestic services and professionals at home.
