The Union of Freight and Logistics Transport Companies in Rio Grande do Sul (SETCERGS) is hosting, on 05/12 (Monday), the Transport and Logistics Forum of Rio Grande do Sul, as part of the movement “Compliance with the Law.” The meeting, which will commence at 13:59, will be held at the entity’s headquarters, located at Av. São Pedro, 1420 – Porto Alegre/RS, and will gather authorities, entrepreneurs, and sectorial leaders to discuss critical challenges directly impacting the operation of road freight transportation (TRCL).
Among the confirmed attendees for the event are the Vice Governor of the State, Gabriel Souza; federal deputy Luciano Zucco and state deputy Gustavo Victorino, who have been standing out in the Legislative Assembly in defense of the transport sector demands.
Also in attendance will be figures with vast political experience, such as former Governor Germano Rigotto, former federal deputy Jerônimo Goergen, and former Deputy Mayor of Porto Alegre Ricardo Gomes, all currently acting as political advisors to SETCERGS. The business sector will be represented by the president of Federasul, Rodrigo Fernandes, and the moderation will be in charge of the journalist and vice president of Rede Pampa, Paulo Sérgio Pinto.
“Today we face almost unsustainable difficulties to work. The 11-hour law is a good example of this. We are complying with the legislation, but all actors need to be held accountable, from shippers to recipients, and not just the carrier, who is exposed on the roads,” highlighted the president of SETCERGS, Delmar Albarello.
Among the topics to be discussed at the forum are the 11-hour journey for drivers, road infrastructure to ensure safety in overnight stops, as well as the responsibilities of shippers and consignees in compliance with the legislation, issues that directly impact the safety and efficiency of the road cargo transportation sector.
