The Chinese platform Temu has reached an impressive milestone in the Brazilian e-commerce market, surpassing giants such as Shein, Samsung and Aliexpress in less than a year of operation in the country. With more than 151 million hits in February 2025, the company recorded its best monthly performance since its arrival in Brazil in May 2024.
The imported sector as a whole had a remarkable performance in February, registering 320 million hits – the second best result in its history, behind only January of that same year. Temu was the main responsible for this growth, being the only one among the five largest companies in the sector to present an increase in the number of hits.
meteoric growth
Temu’s success is even more significant considering the difference to its direct competitors. The platform surpassed Aliexpress, second in the ranking of imported ones, by a margin of approximately 77 million hits. In the general ranking of the largest e-commerces in Brazil, Temu has already surpassed almost all Asian competitors, positioning itself behind only Shopee, which ranks second.
While the import sector thrived, February was a challenging month for Brazilian e-commerces in general. None of the 18 sectors analyzed showed growth compared to January, which had recorded historical records for different segments.
Mobile trend on the rise
Another relevant market data is the consistent growth of visits via the app, which increased by 11.37% compared to the same period of the previous year, while web visits fell by 0.55%. Currently, more than 78% of all access to e-commerces in Brazil are carried out from mobile devices, confirming a trend that has been driven by their own brands.
The Temu case illustrates how a company can, in record time, achieve a prominent position in the competitive Brazilian e-commerce market, challenging already established players and changing the dynamics of the imported sector.
