The Itaqui District, the only green district of innovation and technology in Brazil, has opened applications for its new startup subsidy program. The initiative, carried out in partnership with the IT Forum — the largest technology and business event in Latin America and part of the group’s ecosystem — will select 20 startups that will have the opportunity to present their solutions to major market players. Applications are open until November 20th.
“This is the moment to transform the future of innovation,” emphasizes Fabiana Falcone, the new CEO of Itaqui District and an influential executive in the sector. “We know that entering this market and building relationships with major leaders is challenging. It is a unique opportunity for those who want to make a difference.”
The chosen startups will participate in events at the Itaqui District and IT Forum Praia do Forte in 2025. They will have some costs covered by Itaqui, as well as mentoring and networking with representatives of the 500 largest technology companies in Brazil, which together have budgets exceeding R$80 million to invest in the area.
To participate in this initiative, the registered companies must meet the following criteria:
– The startup needs to develop innovative technological solutions with significant market impact;
– Present a long-term vision and commitment to sustainability, respecting people and promoting diversity;
– Early-stage or expanding startups will be prioritized;
– The company cannot be controlled by a corporation with more than 100 employees or annual revenue exceeding R$20 million/year;
– Those that fill out the complete form will also be given priority.
Startups will be chosen after several selection stages. The results will be out by December 20, and activities will start in 2025. Interested parties can register and get more information on the official page of the program.
