Established in 2021, the pioneering startup Leapfone, offering smartphones as new by subscription, has already established itself in the Brazilian market for individuals and now reaches businesses. According to a recent survey by the Regional Center for Studies on the Development of the Information Society (Cetic), 68% of companies in Brazil use corporate cell phones, in 92% of those surveyed. Leapfone offers a tailored service that provides, in addition to savings, convenience.
The service of corporate cell phone subscriptions offered by Leapfone is completely personalized, meaning the customer chooses the device model, with various brands and models such as iPhone, Samsung, and Motorola. Payment is monthly/recurring, and the company can rent from 10 cell phones up to the number of devices they prefer. The smartphone reaches the company’s hands ready to be used, with the option to include a protective case, screen protector, cable, charger, and any other accessory desired by the company.
In addition to the ease of providing your employees with a complete cell phone, including insurance, technical assistance, and the right to an annual exchange, Leapfone’s service provides savings. Since the company doesn’t have to invest in buying new devices that become outdated on average in two years and need to be replaced. Subscribing to smartphones is even more advantageous for companies opting for real profit. If the subscription is categorized as an operating expense (OPEX), it is possible to deduct the entire amount invested from income tax – which does not happen when the company chooses to purchase the devices.
For Leapfone’s marketing manager, Letícia Bufarah, the concept of Phone As a Service aims to simplify the day-to-day operations of companies. “The goal is for the company not to worry about maintenance and not have to allocate a team to manage corporate phones. If a company has internal software, for example, and wants all devices to come with this solution, Leapfone will work with the client on how to install it on the devices, delivering the devices ready for use.”
Cell phone ‘Like new’
Leapfone works with ‘like new’ devices, a term that includes used phones or electronics that undergo a renewal process. With this process, the devices gain a new lease of life because they receive new parts, are reconfigured, and reassembled according to factory standards — as well as having their warranty extended. For this, the company adopts a circular logistics system. Basically, it acquires the device and identifies the necessary improvements in aesthetics and functionalities. From there, it replaces the parts and reassembles according to the manufacturer’s standards. Finally, the device undergoes quality tests and proceeds to be repackaged with its accessories. This makes the cell phone subscription even more sustainable.
The expectation is to advance to the B2B market in companies of all sizes. It is a solution that aims to help distribute the management of IT equipment, facilitating the company’s operation. Leapfone aims to offer a digital solution, simple, and adapted to the administrative reality of each corporation.
