What are the advantages of companies working without inventory?

In recent years, networks that operate without maintaining inventory have gained space in retail. This practice, which attracts entrepreneurs seeking greater efficiency, is known as “Just in Time”. Created in Japan, this strategy aims to minimize waste on production lines and increase company’s yield. By keeping few or no stored products, it is possible to reduce costs and optimize processes, becoming more agile and competitive in the market. In Brazil, many companies have adopted this methodology, especially in industries such as furniture. “In this way, you produce only what is necessary, at the moment it is requested and in the exact quantity of demand, avoiding overproduction, reducing waste, and accelerating processes. Working without “ready-to-deliver” products offers several advantages, such as greater flexibility, allowing the business to have a wide variety of items without worrying about space to keep them. Furthermore, the quality improves, as there are fewer materials stored for long periods”, explains Thariel Manteiga, CEO of Prohouse Colchões, a network specialized in mattresses and box springs.
