Artificial intelligence in the field drives gains in agribusiness

The use of technology, artificial intelligence and new marketing strategies has directly benefited the rural producer and the development of agribusiness, facilitating day-to-day solutions such as online auctions, simplification of agricultural financing and shorter path to specialized service.

Innovations in agribusiness, industry and the distribution sector are connected with the goal of increasing agricultural productivity in a sustainable way, faced with the challenge of producing 60% more food by 2050 to feed a world population of 9.3 billion people, as predicted by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization).

According to MarketsandMarkets, a global platform dedicated to market research, the agriculture-oriented AI market is projected to reach US$ 4.7 billion by 2028.

Technology shortens the path between the rural producer and the solutions for the day to day agribusiness. Among the fronts that AI already operates, is the automated and personalized service to the rural producer.

Artificial intelligence agents are trained to serve via WhatsApp, simulating real-time financing and generating personalized proposals for the rural producer. AI also guides on agricultural inputs, answers questions and assists buyers, functioning as a digital extension of commercial teams.

BW8 marketing, technology and sales expert and CEO William Crizostimo explains that the goal of innovation and the use of AI in the industry is to create market intelligence to anticipate demands.

“One of the goals is to bring predictability of sales in historically unstable sectors. Put the farmer, distributor and industry in the same flow of data and” communication, says the CEO.

AI is designed to operate in a secure, controlled environment where all technical and operational data is protected, and the answers provided follow company-specific guidelines, minimizing the risk of misinterpretation.

In this way, the tool becomes adaptable to meet the needs of different types of business, operating within the specifications determined by each service scenario. In agribusiness, for example, AI has been trained with a vast technical database, including agricultural equipment manuals, input and defensive catalogues, and maintenance guides. This ensures that the answers are accurate, clear and aligned with the best practices in the industry.

Among the results, the use of automated AI reduced customer service time by 40% and increased customer satisfaction by 25%, according to BW8 data.

“With this we show that it is not enough to throw water on the leaves. It is necessary to irrigate the soil so that the entire chain grows”, said the CEO of the technology company.
