Black Friday: payment methods and security tips

Synonymous with great promotions, Black Friday requires extra care. With the increase in purchases, especially online, it is essential that consumers are aware of the means of payment they use and take security measures to avoid inconvenience.

The credit card leads among the most popular forms of payment for allowing installments and, in many cases, offering benefits, such as cashback or accumulation of points, but another medium has gained strength in recent years: the PIX, due to its practicality and speed, which have turned it into a widely used option, especially for cash purchases. In addition, digital wallets, such as PayPal and Mercado Pago, have been gaining space, as they combine security with facilities such as exclusive promotions.

Although the payment options are many, the shopping period is also one of the most targeted moments by scammers. Fake websites, malicious links and “must-miss” promotions can turn into real traps. It is essential that consumers are aware of ensuring a safe experience.

An important tip is to always check the authenticity of the site before entering any data. Prefer stores that have an e-mail starting with “https” and that are recognized in the market. Another strategy is to opt for means that offer an extra layer of protection, the case of virtual cards or digital wallets. In addition, never make purchases using public Wi-Fi networks, such as cafes or malls, as they can be easily invaded.

While tempting offers are the big attraction of Black Friday, it's important to keep common sense. Promotions with very low prices can be a sign of a scam. Before finalizing any purchase, research the store's reputation and compare the values on different sites.

The future of payment methods also promises to make purchases even easier. PIX, for example, should be consolidated as the main form of payment in the coming years, while digital wallets continue to grow, bringing new benefits and greater security.

Black Friday is an incredible opportunity to save and purchase desired products, but it requires attention and care. Choosing reliable means of payment and adopting safe practices are essential steps to avoid problems. So you can enjoy the promotions with peace of mind and guarantee a positive shopping experience.
